Hate to say it but my family has spoken french for the 7 generations since immigration from France. I still haven't decided wether to continue that with my daughter, or have her learn mandarin or spanish instead.

Well, i believe you should teach her french, and then she can decide herself when she is old enough whether she wants to learn a 3rd language or not. But you should teach her french nonetheless...
