I wonder what the lineups will be tonight, i'm hoping Cervenka gets more ice time. It would be nice if he could centre Baertschi and Hudler! - bigbear89
According to Roger Millions, Sven will be on the 4th line and Cervenka will play with Hudler and Comeau. Not sure how Comeau keeps getting top 9 playing time?

I'd rather try and win a cup by building a strong team from the bottom up rather than hoping to squeak into the playoffs and catch lightning in a bottle. But that's just my opinion. - The-O-G
totally agree and i've abandoned my thoughts on the "tinkering" the team has done. If by April 3rd, this team isn't SOLIDLY in a playoff spot-it need to be nuclear... all i'm saying is if you're in... |

I'm with you a 100% on that. when the habs road halak to the conference finals was I happy, for sure happy to see them succeeding, but I knew deep down it was not the dominace that I was craving. you know the detroit years, or the habs of the 70s. if you build a team ypu want them to be able to compete for many years or at least know they won the cup withsheer talent and not some flukey garbage goals and kipper. |

Ya I agree with you, it's possible. Horrid philosophy to follow though. Partly why i'm becoming more and more frustrated as a fan. I mean they could trade Iggy and STILL get in. If they keep him, get 9th, and he walks at the end of the year, I will burn my jersey. |

Hey Colin! Well that 10 game segment countdown is 2-0. Blows me away. I knew they would come out against Minny with fire but to get a win against Phoenix was totally unexpected. Minny & Colorado this week are must wins. Teams we can & should beat if we want to be in the playoffs. The west coast segment looks like hell for us, so if we have to win 7-10 in this segment, these 2 games are huge.
We really need to play Boston & Pitt off on each other to raise the price for Iggy if that does go down. Can you imagine, either team would be just mortified if their rival scored a piece like Iggy & with that probably the inside track to resigning him for 2-3 years as well. Could mean a shift in the balance of power as both are pretty close. I would say Philly would have something to say as well. Get a bidding war and if I were Feasty, I would want Maata, Morrow & that 1st for Iggy + a 3rd or another depth piece like Butler. Boston I would want Hamilton & a 1st or Spooner Knight & a 1st for Iggy + depth. Yeah I know huge overpayments. Trade deadline is the time of season for overpayments. |

Possible misinterpretation here...Rog merely said those were the lines during the morning skate. Not necessarily the lines for tonight. |

I'd also love to see Cervenka with Iggy. - jtommyt
Agreed, Tanguay is a more complete and effective player when he isn't with Jarome. |

I like Tanguay with Cammy. Maybe with Horak in the middle? |

I think Horak gets wat too much love on this thread. He is not and will never be a play making centre. Best case would be a 3rd line centre IMO. |

You know I disagree with you on this one, but I won't argue with you about it again. |

2 point game - Lahey
If you want a 2 point game at least say you hope it's the Flames that come out on top... |

Well if Minny wins it would bring some dignity back to the division. 4 teams being 11-14th in the conference is about as pathetic as it comes. A minny win could make it 7th and then 12-14th. |

It doesn't really matter. Truth be told, I'll have a lot of told you so's if Minny misses the playoffs are barely make it in.
Like I said, 2 point game and I'll be happy. |

We'll do our best! Although in the end it probably won't matter for either of us |

Real question: will there be ONE flames blog that does NOT have 1/3-1/2 of the comments discussing rebuild/tanking/trading for picks/not wanting to win this yr?

Clearly the answer is no. Until this team either sinks or swims, this question is unavoidable. |

I agree. Unless they somehow jump up to 6th or better we'll be talking about the TDL and the draft as much as we talk about this group of players.
We all know that with Iginla's contract expiring this team is sitting on the edge of a precipice... It's only natural that people will want to talk about it. |
