Oh goody, Ek has been reading our board. His update reeks of this happening.

I have to assume we are EKs "sources" haha.

But Pacoretti (sp?) and Subban really isn't a bad exchange.

The oilers on the other hand could maybe be a good trade partner

I'd consider trading Letang for PK Subban and Max Pacioretty. Definitely would.

I hold Orpik accountable a lot, I think he is the veteran guy,
He's been on the team the longest, is an assistant captain. Often looks like he's being tortutred to be out there. He gives the younger opponents too much room and is beaten to the net and looking towards the ceiling. I wanna see him with that killer look in his eye and holding people responsible on the team.

I'm really starting to worry that they'll flush another season down the toilet to come to the realization that changes are necessary to be successful in the playoffs.

- madmike71

A valid concern IMO.

I really think besides bad negotiations, another early playoff exit is the only way they move Letang. With another dissapointment, Shero will need to do something to shake up things. It might be a coaching change, but he's not trading Crosby, Malkin or Neal, but moving someone like Letang gets about as close to shaking up the core as you can get.

I think when Letang is out, the team is much more noticably worse than when they are losing anybody else. I just can't see Shero trading the #1 Dman....Has any team ever done that while they are not even in their prime?

If it's a matter of money I think you move Malkin and keep Letang if it ever comes down to it.

so Bleacher report says, Brouwer could be on the move.... I would be interested in him, I like his game. Him and Cullen would be welcome additions, 2nd and 5th round picks for both of them would be my offer.

Alfredsson is also an attractive piece as well for Crosby's line.

Malkin skated today for 30 minutes. No symptoms yesterday. Awesome sign

Consider the source. 95% of Bleacher Report is no different than Eklund.

now thats a jab

edit: it would make little sense, trading a first round pick for him and then signing him to a long term deal only to send him packing.

It's sad that Turner bought them and are trying to portray it as a legitimate news source for sports.

All you need to do is look at Ottawa or Montreal and you can see where good structure and discipline has made good strides in producing a team that can win with OK talent. Can we not imagine that the patients are running the asylum? Can we not imagine a breakdown in communication? Also, a coach can lose control and we saw plenty of evidence of that against Philly this year.

There is a difference between toughness and acting tough and taking dumb penalties. There is a difference between triangulating/ surrounding the puck and sort of trying. Many gaffes occur at the opening of periods as if they are not mentally prepared to react.

These are signs of ineffective leadership on the bench. I have lowered my expectations so long as coaching remains the same. We have the team talent but we are not playing like a team for each other. There is a lot of selfishness and giant egos that need someone who can pull them together. I sense they no longer respect Dan.
