My expectations get lower with every game. Bad way to start a 3 game trip.

You know Staal will be ready to go, and then Montreal is playing some good hockey. Oh boy.

Team defense wasnt the complete issue. Its dumb penalties.

Isn't that always the case?

Maybe we can get him Player of the Week the way we did for Vorecek.

Penguins D/PK/Vokoun, turning mediocre into all stars on a nightly basis.

Starting with cutting the penalties would be awessome. Than we can get a tough d-man..someone that can clear the lane.

the players arent playing smart and that doesnt help

Night in and night out it's the same thing. Turnovers in all the bad places. Poor decisions everywhere. Stupid penalties. When does it come back to reflecting on the coach?

Whatever we have is simply not working.

Wish the Blackhawks or Kings were playing, I'd like to watch a team play like a real team.

A Guerin type to calm down the guys? Iginla? We need that for this purpose.

Efforts like this make us question our heart and desire to win. 4 PP goals against? Unacceptable.

It's hard to imagine everyone being so critical of a 13 - 7 team. BUT, even in wins the effort and quality of play just doesn't reflect the talent we throw on the ice.

I'm not even sure what type of system we are running, sometimes Blysma says we want a fast north south style, then its controlling the puck, then we are playing too up tempo. Time for the old 1-4 snoozefests?

Just saw the score, glad the game wasn't on tonight.

When i got on HB, I saw a blog about what it would take to get Iginla and who might be after him. The Pens were a team and it said a 1st and a D prospect like Puliot or Morrow. If that's the price it might be worth it if you think you can re sign him.

I don't see it coming down to getting a specific player. This team has enough experience and talent to know how to play the game right. They just choose not to.

IF you can resign him. I'm not convinced Pittsburgh can with the cap. Personally, I think that is a steep price to pay for him based on what I've seen from him this year.

Well just left BBT center. Can't really complain about the refs because it went both ways. Just a poor performance. The 1st period was just awful. We really need a net front presence. At least 5 or 6 rebounds in front if Theodore/clemmenson and no one there to put it home. Tonight was a game where Malkin was sorely missed. Again only a 30 minute effort.

P.s - Vokoun let in some softies as well. He looked slow in the crease and was out of position. With this effort is rather have Johnson .

I've always wondered what is a too steep of a price to give yourself a real shot at the cup? The Cup is why they play the game, and we have way too many prospects playing D.

So many that they won't have a place to play in WBS and they will never all be playing for the Penguins. You have to give something to get something. I'd rather get someone younger than Iggy for the price, but he fits the bill on what the Penguins need.

Vokoun's last 2 have been very Johnson like.

His confidence is shot. This team will do that to you. I don't think people realize how good MAF has been backstopping this team.

I've got to ask it again.... What went through Letang's mind on that last goal? How do you pay a player 7mil that can't "quarterback" the PP and makes decisions like that?

Might as well save 1.4 mil and have Johnson in net if Vokoun is going to play like this haha. But I'd like to see the pens go after a guy who will plant himself in front of the net and go hard to the net every shift. Pens could of had 2 or 3 garbage goals in the crease

If people thought Despres for Iginla was already bad, I don't see us getting him at all. He would be here for a reason and one purpose only (two maybe haha): leadership and score some goals.
And yes, he's old but can make us a "more complete" team.

I mean Guerin wasn't the best player, but his leadership took us to another level.

Letang should sign for $6mil. That's it. A nice cap for his game. Give him 8 years. He might take it.

Exactly. The "little things" that make a whole lot of difference. If we can fix our main problem (bad penalties), awessome. Iginla can be a calming influence. He's a C in Calgary for christ sakes.

Negotiations for the best offensive/defensemen/bonehead in the league should be interesting. I wonder if he doesn't like the fact Martin has taken his PP spot and it is thriving without him?

He does eat alot of minutes and when he is not playing it really shows.

A GM's job is never done, good luck Shero...Fix it hahaha.

I agree, until he wins a Norris no more than $6, I would even say 5 because he cant really hit the net on a 1 timer. I like Letang a lot he's probaly my #2 fav Pen but I just dont think he's worth what some people claim.

I don't like giving up a top D prospect AND a first round pick, especially in this draft, for a rental. It's that simple. If he agrees to resign in Pittsburgh, then pull the trigger. I'm not convinced he would. Same goes with Corey Perry.
