i'm a die hard fan and I was a (frank)ing whaler fan growing up..so I don't want to hear about how bad it is..lol I have a horrible choice is hockey teams. with that being said the tone of these threads are unreal...I can't take the female doging anymore....which is why I don't post much... I love my team...I can still sleep at night..

It's not so much about "Bringing IT" to each game, it's more about knowing how to play in situations. You don't need all 20 skaters being brilliant every night to win because that rarely happens for any team. HOPE YOU'RE LISTENING CAPPY....THIS IS IMPORTANT, EASY STUFF.

This team doesn't know how to play with a lead. Or their coaching doesn't know how to coach with a lead. If you're up 2-0, you play conservatively and make the OTHER team do the work and wait for the opportunity/turnover to increase the lead. Forwards shouldn't be forcing the play or taking risks or giving PP's away with lazy play/bad penalties. (Martin's interference was a crappy call but still no excuse) I'm not saying employ the trap but for fock-sakes, don't make it easy by letting them back in the game.

And screw Howie & Butch for jinxing the game. I swear, they we're talking about the 2-goal lead being the most dangerous lead....sure enough, Staal puts the first one in....like 10 seconds later. It doesn't happen often Howie but when the Mets have a no hitter going beyond the first inning, you shut yer trap, no?

I have to agree with Garth that this team has talent but their coaching doesn't know how to utilize it. Lines 2-4 take their foot off the pedal whenever JT & MM get on the board....it's a sin when lines 2-4 blow the game. Benchings should be awarded to players when they don't contribute offensively and let up goals while on the ice. But this is the country club....where there's never any repercussions.

When I think die hard I'm talking about the one team you grew up loving from the time you're a little kid to the present. I think we all can sleep at night otherwise this team would have killed us years ago

I understand when you went to cup parades I watched the whalers draft mark greig over brian leetch....good times...I have seen a team I follow win one playoff series in my life time...I am perfectly qualified to like this sh*t show

His team left and he choose another one to root for that's fine. You on the other hand if you're a die hard fan you don't jump ship to another team no matter what. If you're a true die hard fan to the bone you would have stuck with the flyers no matter what your circumstances are. I couldn't possibly root for another NHL team like the way I root for the Islanders no matter what. If you're a die hard its in your blood no matter what and you can't just drop your allegiance for another team. So in my book you're not a die hard Islander fan. Just the way I feel nothing personal and I'm sure you won't agree and that's cool
