But he was eligible to play overseas or to get a skating coach like JT did and work on a glaring deficiency in his game. He chose not to and you see the result. It says a lot about his character and drive that he didn't go overseas or at least stay local and work on his skating game. KO can't skate. Its embarassing for him and the team.

Look no further than Matt Martin to see how someone's skating can improve in one season. His overall game has improved with his skating, telling you he is going to get better and better, he's a competitor.

So what you're saying is as long as Garth Snow is our GM we will not be competitive

Probably right...Snow doesn't know what he's doing...

Great game last night by the Islanders knew they would lose. Bruins are just light years ahead of the Islanders. It was good to see JAck call a time out after the two quick goals to settle teh team down. Oh wait that did not happen but he calls a time out the other night when they are up by two. JAck is clueless and has no idea how to coach these guys. I saw way to much of Okposo and REasoner last night. Amac has to be one of the worse defenseman I have seen in a while. He should not be on a power play at all cant hit the net to save his life. The second power play unit is a total waste and I would reward Cizikas a spot on the pwer play over those guys. Okposo was the same had a little jump but I am realizing he really is not a NHL player. Anyway another great loss for the rebuilding Islanders. Toronto is next and since we ill be playing home I see another loss in our future.

Good news is the Rangers loss to keep us two points behind. You know a couple of wins and we would be in teh playoffs.

It just seems this team gives up more deflections in their own goal then any other team. It seems like almost one a game.

Judging by the pic the posted on the isles site you would think they were playing in Boston. Lot of B's in the crowd. Giving our home record maybe that would have been a good thing. During warmups at home games they should all look into the stands and say to themselves we are in xxx city.

Smaller D means more people crowded by the front of the net. Boston's simply a better team...at every position. Nabby made big saves last night, but Rask played better. Our D, small as it is, did a pretty good job tying up sticks and keeping things mostly on the outside, but Boston's D did a better job at those things. Our forwards skated well and generated good scoring chances, but their forwards were able to finish their chances. If the team had a coach, or leadership in the locker room, or whatever...to get that kind of effort every night, things might be a bit different around here. In 2006-07, that kind of effort was a given. Was it the coach? The players? I don't know, but it'd be nice if they could figure that out.

Nielse has not been having the best year and this is coming from one of his biggest fans. I know I'm a "Bailey apologist" but biased or not I really think he has been pretty good, he's got to start putting up some points but look who he's playing with. Don't start bashing me Jethro

for all the rush chances the Isles got, did anyone actually see the Isles get near a rebound off rask? Pretty sure all night was one and done.

Nabby has to have that first one in a game like this. He can play as well as he did in the third but a softie against a team like the Bruins is going to kill us every time. This year he's allowed at least 1-2 soft goals damn near every game. With better goaltending this team is .500 and in the playoff picture.

A good coach would go a long way. I'd probably enjoy having a beer and smoking a cigar with Capuano but he's the last person I'd want coaching my team of developing players.

Who's Nielsen been playing with?

On this team. If your not playing with JT or MM your at a disadvantage.

If your on a line with KO or Aucoin your doomed.

Put Neilsen on the wing with JT and MM and he'll get double digit goals also.

That being said, Nielsen has been playing on the wrong line for way to long.

with a better D, the goalie doesn't have to face as many dangerous shots or worry about rebounds. Nabby cant do this all himself.

Exactly a goalie is just as gooas his defense. Look at the King now with his defense thin he is giving up a lot more goals

Not sure which Dman it always is (want to say AMAC) but everytime there is an odd man rush he goes down way too early just as the other team crosses the blue line and then the player with the puck just skates around him and then gets off a good shot or pass.

I just don't get this team when they are on they are pretty damn good but when they are off its like an AHL team out there. Its seems its one or the other, right now i would take consistant mediocracy.
