Boston is such a good team. by far one of top in league.

I thought isles played a great game but didnt finish their chances like boston does.

Nabby after slow start made huge saves. we poured it on at end but with nothing to show for it.

Sad thing is if isles played every night like they did tonight, we would all be some pretty happy fans.

That's what I was saying- unless you know you're the real deal, like we were from 1980-83, there are always going to be a few teams where there's very little chance you beat them, unless THEY lay an egg. I thought they played well for MOST of last night as well- there were spots where they went to sleep, as usual, but they certainly gave a far better effort than the previous game. If they played that way every night, they'd beat garbage like Carolina and Buffalo every time they play them. If just THAT had happened this year, they'd be 11-8-1, instead of the other way around.

Now we going to get a toronto team that lost to buffalo and wants to avenge the beatdown we gave them in toronto.

Toronto is another pile of cr*p, like the aforementioned teams- I don't care what their record out of the gate is, look at their roster. Ottawa is missing two of their best players. Washington has been lousy thus far. These are teams they have to learn to play 60 minutes against, because if they do, they will win those games. I'd add Florida to that list, as well.

I thought Bailey played great today. I don't think he is the problem. As for Hickey, I do not get the love for him? I rather have Hillen and that says a lot
- mighty13duck

I don't love him he has been showing some improvement but then again I kind of liked Hillen too

Five of the six guys you mentioned probably won't be on the roster next year.

To be competitive again I think the Islanders will need 6 players...3 top 6 forwards, 2 top 4 defesemen and a top goalie. Some will come from their draft picks (Strome, maybe Nino and Nelson and eventually Reinhardt). But they'll have to go outside the organization for the others.

I have a question for everyone...if by a miracle the Islanders are still in the playoff hunt with 5 games to go, can they bring up Strome and Reinhardt?

To play the last 5 games?

Not playoffs?

In years past you could either play the first 9 games or the last 9 games without losing a year on their ELC.

I would assume it would be the same.

dont know for sure, but heard rumor that the isles will sign Anders Lee when school ends, and bring him to NHL club like Rags did with Kreider last year,
so dont think Strome or Reinhardt will even sniff NHL this year, more like Nino,Donovan,

Like Kear said... Nino and Strome take up 2 spots.

Reasoner is gone.

Aucoin will either be gone or in Bridgeport.

McDonald... might hang around as a fourth liner or play in Bridgeport.

Neilsen will be here.

KO and Bailey... maybe traded.

I would think Bailey has more value @ this point than KO.

I don't mind Bailey... but KO needs a wake up call. Maybe a trip to Bridgeport would wake him up.

He should have been playing during the lockout... he looks like he is stuck in mud out there.

Changes are needed. The team is just too inconsistent and when they play a top tier team, they aren't good enough to win, even when they play well. I don't expect the Isles to consistently beat the top teams in the league, but I do expect a consistent effort. If they were consistent, they'd have won a few games they should have and would be in a playoff spot right now.

That being said, don't expect any changes. Snow doesn't make trades and Cappy isn't going to be fired before the end of the year. I think its telling that they haven't extended his contract yet. I expect a coaching change after the season if the team misses the playoffs, but i expect the hire to be more of the same, a Thompson or Weight hiring as opposed to a respected veteran NHL coach.

Thats if Lee even wants to sign. He may pull that loophole bulls**t and go back into the draft this summer. If he's not signed by the draft, he can go back in this summer, I believe.

But he was eligible to play overseas or to get a skating coach like JT did and work on a glaring deficiency in his game. He chose not to and you see the result. It says a lot about his character and drive that he didn't go overseas or at least stay local and work on his skating game. KO can't skate. Its embarassing for him and the team.

So what you're saying is as long as Garth Snow is our GM we will not be competitive

I don't think he meant Bridgeport specifically more along the lines of sending him to Bridgeport now
