he has been awful playing with real hockey players...how would he do hear?? although ten bucks he scores next time we play them

I agree Gagne might not help but it seems other GM's have a relationship with each other and Snow doesn't...that's my point....

Because your definition is completely flawed.

strongly or fanatically determined or devoted ; especially : strongly resisting change
— die·hard noun
— die–hard·ism \-ˌiz-əm\ noun

Now by your flawed/feeble definition, no one who didn't start cheering for the team from birth can be considered devoted.

I would submit that any fan who cheers for their team and refuses to stop cheering for that team no matter what the circumstances is a diehard fan. So in 1978 I decided to cheer for the Isles. I've likely cheered for tham as long or LONGER than you. I have several THOUSAND dollars in Islanders memoribilla. Attend several games a year. Cheer for them in a city hostile to fans of other teams. Yet you feel that's not diehard? 35 years?
If you can't see how flawed your concept is, you're beyond talkling to.

More importantly, how did you get the letters all red like that? Wow, I did it by accident? WTF

Snow doesn't get any respect around the league, it's obvious. One of my biggest knocks on him. It's an important tool as far as being a GM in this leagu and I'm guessing any league for that matter?

I'm guessing you missed my follow up post when you said you were 6 when you became an Islander fan?? Of course you're a die hard because you have been following them pretty much your whole life. My point was and I can't believe I have to explain this again but if you're a fan of one team then after a prolonged period of time you switch teams to root for you can't have the same passion as someone who has been rooting for that team their whole life. To me that's the definition of a die hard fan. Why is that so hard to understand???

It was fun in the 70's when they were moving up the standings...they had a good management team in place. Almost got a job with them out of college. The team today I don't like. The management team sucks, outside of a handful, it wouldn't bother me if they were traded. This team reminds me of the NY Giants in the early 70's before George Young became the GM. Bad picks, lousy coaching....

Agree...I travel alot and have run into some NHL teams when I'm at hotels. One of the coaches of the Avs was sitting next to me at the hotel bar. We got into a conversation and I told him I was an Islanders fan. He was telling me that the Isles mgmt...low balls all trade proposals...so it is hard to work with them...

because I think it's a discredit to anyone who has been through the tough times with this team. I've obviously been a fan for longer than a lot of folks here have been alive. That said, there's no way I would tell ANYONE here who has managed to cheer for this team through the last decade that they aren't a diehard fan even if they cheered for the Rangers from 75-95 and then Isles from 96 to today. If anyting, the definition of diehard fan is exactly what EVERYONE here is!

Simon Gagne to Flyers for a conditional 4th round pick...injury prone but could have helped on the 2nd line...it seems like it's a big deal for the Islanders to make a trade while the other teams swap players at will...

that in itself is not a bad thing, you don't want them to give up too much . I know what he means though I'm sure. Like offering Acoin for O'reilly. You can see Snow making some completely wacky BS proposal to someone because my impression of him is wacky. I've met players from other teams a couple times just being out and about at events or bars and one thing is consistent. Nobody respects Snow, Wang, or this team.
