Indeed. An Eager type or two in the top 6 and a defensive upgrade or two and we look a lot better. Is it possible to somehow end up with both Clowe and Simmonds in the off season? Wishful thinking but a nice thought.

Of course since we're going to win the Cup it should be easy to attract free agents.

- sanfordnson

They were talking of Clowe's bench BS and how he has 0 pts this year... I wonder if he wont be resigned prior to UFA?? As San Jose knows his potential and is aware that without him they become less intimidating... at least for us... On a side note- did we not out hit Chicago last night?? Thats a step fwd IMO

Richard Cloutier: What's Worse: The Coaching, the Players or the Management?
- Maxbone

Wow. I do not agree with your assessment Richard.

Hall being out hurts of course.

Khabby was not the issue. How many whacks at the puck do you let Sharp and Hossa have from 3 feet in front of the net. Smid and Petry are to blame for the OT goal.

Hemsky needs to be gone. We need more depth. Getting better, but still need more.

Eager has over 30 hits in 9 games so far. In a full season he is far and away the hit leader. He has actually been fast too. I'm not an Eager fan, but he has not been the issue. He should have dealt with Carcillo, but he's still dealing with his last injury. Doesnt want to get in a fight and be out again for a month.

The Defense is not good enough. Aside from Shot blocking I have not liked Smids game this year. I think there would be a good return for him. Petry is a number 3 guy that still makes errors. Whitney is done (sadly. I had hoped he would get back to his old self). Fistric and Pekham are 6,7 guys.

So for all the fans saying management and coaching? Just what move that is available would you have made. I've heard alot of chirping, but none of you have come up with a deal that is doable. From both sides of the table. Its easy to sit back and say they should do this or that. But right now there has been nothing available at a price that wasnt ridiculous. Patience will end up being the correct move in the long run.

I think they now see the holes that need plugged.

A top six guy with size and grit. Bottom 6 guy that can chip in offensively. a top pairing defensive defensman to go with Shultz (may be Klef). A top 4 punishing Dman.

Tell me who those guys are and what the price is?

Also worth mentioning there was a rumor floating around that Whitney could end up on waivers. Not sure how accurate it was as a. it came from another poster on another site and b. his source was Doug maclean.

So about as likely as an Ek roomer.

Maclean is an odd one. He had connections, but I've noticed when people don't agree with his opinion he tries to pass it off as something more than his opinion.

I do have some respect for the guy now. He admitted to (frank)ing up in CBJ finally.

We're still losing. We've been losing since 2006. Our once proud team has become a punchline for 1st overall jokes for the window licker crowd, our management seems content to just sit back and draft high every year and our best young players are probably starting to become used to a losing culture.

Youre right. Everything is great.

Could not have said it better... It has to be wearing on the players... to continue to lose... Whether you lose by 1 goal or 4 it doesnt (frank)ing matter... when you cant get a regulation victory it has to be frustrating... esp. for goaltending that has been the highlight thus far this season overall..

Another season or 2 of loserville and these kids may consider blowing this popsicle stand... I mean cold weather is tolerable - hell anything is tolerable when your winning... but when you can lose in 30 degrees C -why the (frank) stay in Edmonton when your cheque can be the same size elsewhere??

Richard Cloutier: What's Worse: The Coaching, the Players or the Management?
- Maxbone

Enough.

Confused messages?

I'm tired of this line of thinking. What kind of entitlement do you think these kids/ players deserve?

So what if Yakupov has to cut his teeth down on the fourth for a bit here.
If he's a b!tch because of it - then he'll either grow out of that, use his frustration and competitive nature as an uprising.

Kreuger has been going on gut and day to day sense with the goaltending. I can't fault him for it at this point.

Same applies here, who is Dubnyk when they put him back between the pipes?
If he's the real deal he'll learn from this, stay focused and come out strong but we're supposed to assume his confidence is fragile and should be somehow protected?

Bullocks. We'll see how competitive he is.

A couple? We score a 3-0 win against Dallas with all goals being at even strength and the cup wagon will be back.

I think Kreuger is trying to turn some players into something the are not.
Also, 2 questions for everyone:
1. Who thinks Kreuger is better then Sutter now?
2. Would Lindy Ruff come to Edmonton?

- robjs22

Ruff is from Warburg! He is probably within 100 kms of Edmonton right now.

Habi has played great.

And the rest of whast you said on your blog is so out to lunch it is not even worth replying to.

Your blogs are getting pretty feeble Clouts. I am guessing your spending very little time on them or watching the team.

I understood it.....but still, these blogs are atrocious. I'm not taking an unfair shot either, just giving my honest opinion. It would just be nice to read some fair/honest/level-headed analysis of the Oilers every now and then.
