I'm not sure just what exactly the issue is. I know Nuge not being healthy is hurting offensive production on the entire line. Maybe Eberle is trying too hard? Not sure exactly what the issue is.
- Maxbone

Anyone else think the PP should be Nuge behind the net, Ebs and Yak on each wing with a body in front and a shooter on the blue line.

Yak obviously has a sick shot, why not line him up more often? Teams have sorta picked up on the Nuge to Ebs cross-crease pass

I cannot even begin to understand your outright hatred for Eager. He is the physical embodiement of everything this team lacks...

He has size, he has speed, and he hits... he most always finishes his checks. As for defending Yaks on the Carcillo hit... it wasn't even that bad.

Eager, in my opinion, should get a shot on the second line.

- OilDerek

But he doesn't actually do any of those things. He needs to read the Carcillo handbook. If Carcillo had the Oiler fans and players pissed off then he has done his job and the fact that Eager didn't step up at any point shows that he isn't doing his.

Clouts.. I think you've been drinking the koolaid again bud. Agree on Taylor Hall, big miss not having him there.

Khabby didn't have a hope on Kane's backhand... its wicked, he beats tons of goalies that way. The second Hawks goal was a bang-bang play one timer on a pass from behind the net. I blame the D for being asleep in the first 3 minutes of third cuz no one covered that guy. And the same with the OT winner. Gagner skated right by the guy who banged the puck in.. wtf... with Khabby, you don't get a point tonight dude... And that's a fact.

Eager... meh. He's playing better than last year, so is Belanger. If you think Belanger is going to get you 15 goals your nuts. That's not why they have him here. He wins his faceoff and does his job. I don't know what the final face off numbers were but the Oilers were up 54-46% after two periods. And Eager has been playing well by the way. If you recall his hustle on a pass against Phoenix when he went to the net drew a penalty which resulted in a goal. The guy can skate. We got rid of Hordi, there are no guys on this team outside of maybe Peckham who can stick up for the kids and Peckham clearly has no future with this team. You get rid of Eager, you have Fistric to stand up for the kids. That's about it. You keep Ben.

Hope your dad is doing well dude.

I will have to disagree. Im not suggesting that Eager is the answer... but he is the closest thing that the Oilers have to a big, mean, hard hitting winger.

I'm not sure what other fans see, but I see a guy who hits and creates turn overs. Has that shown up on the box score? No; but keep in mind that he has been playing with defensively minded players (ie. Belanger, Petrell).

Is he worthy of a spot in the top six? Probably not... but does he exhibit the qualities of what we need in our top six? I think so...

I'd entertain having him on a line with nuge and eberle. Both smart players that can compensate for his lack of hockey sense. Let him throw the body and clear room for the other two.

Clouts I disagree about gagner. Trade him while his value is at it's peak.

just a bit of perspective here...the oilers lost to the best team in the league in overtime without their best player. Pretty decent result imo.

Totally... give Eager a shot with the wundrkids, at least, early in the game before he starts to suck. He won some battles that no one else on the Oil would have won just by bulling his way in which is what the oil need. Don't be a jackass like Kassian but go throw the body around

True just gets frustrating when you're in almost every game and coming up short when the opportunity for the W is right there

At some point you Kreuger has to try...

There are times when Hall/Nuge/Ebs look like a bonafide first line that has the ability to dominate and change the momentum of the game.

Unfortunately that line, (the team in general), has to be a puck carrying team which doesn't work when your opponent lines up at the blue line or when you continue to insist on making a short, half assed pass two feet past the oppositions blue line.

There is a reason this team will not and can not play a dump and chase game... they NEVER come up with the puck; EVER. Both Nuge and Ebs can go into a corner againist a single defender and still lose the puck battle. That is unacceptable... but that is the reality.

It is incredibly frustrating to watch... but then you must know that being a fellow fan.

this

i take no solace in; "well we've been in every game!! or we only lost by 1 goal"!!!

i think we've currently lost 9 of 11 or 12 or something close to that. we dont have the luxury of letting pts slip away

the opportunity was there and this 9 game roadie is pretty much our season if we tailspin

i get that, and currently the sens are on the opposite side of these decisions, but other games aside, its hard to complain you lost in ot to the best team in the league.

RNH is definitely in the sophomore slump category this year... you guys have the veterans in horcoff, smyth, and hemsky forward wise... you guys have a good top 3 lines..

What i think is that you need a guy like luongo. Despite his contract, the guy will bail you out big time and will boost the young guns confidence and gives them more opportunities to score and not worry about big stretches of catching up when the other team is up. Yes you need to upgrade on defense but a guy like luongo can do alot too.

Management is the problem.

To be more specific, scouting.

Apart from Eberle, any moron could have drafted what the oilers have.

With the draft rules the way they were, 9th was just about the worst end to a season that you could have, which is the Lames most comfortable position.

The only problem with the lines right now is Yakupov should be playing RW with Hall and Gagner and Eberle belongs on the LW with Nuge and Hemsky.
