so for realios. you like the deal right? i don't wanna back read.
- Fountain-San

weird deal but if Cole wasn't happy or management didn't think he fit in well this year, this is not a bad deal for the Habs. Cole is not having a good year so far, slow as hell. Cap space will be very important come next fall....

Hard to judge this trade objectively, considering how much Ryder sucked at the end of his tenure in Montreal... But I think I like it.
- _nay_

Exactly what I was thinking. Only i don't think he's that guy anymore. Plus with the cap space and a pick. I lean towards liking it.

Ryder was good in Montreal until the Gainey/Carbo era where they tried to change his style to a defensive player. He had a couple 30 goal seasons under Julien in Montreal. He had a 27 goal season in Boston, followed by a number of clutch performances in the Bruins Cup run. Last year he was unbelievable in Dallas, netting 35 goals. This year he also lead Dallas in scoring. Being from the same small town of a couple thousand people, and knowing the guy personally, I have been following Micheal and watching 80% of his games on Center Ice. We will not be dissappointed.

When he was in Montreal his great shot was his bread and butter. That is still the case, but now he can control the play. I expect him to thrive under Therien. Unbelievable how MB can unload Cole's contract. Amazing.

Now the question.... Who does he play with? Im guessing Eller and Galchenyuk

exactly. you got a guy like ryder who 1, is got one year left, and 2, has a playoff track record. especially helpful with the habs for real this year.

i really thought the peverley, kelly, ryder line was gonna get back together.

I would assume he will play where Cole did. Its a good salary dump. Ryder is a FA after this year so you aren't married to him like we were with Cole.
