surely it couldn't be a couple of weeks before the trade deadline Reimer was a headcase and Gustavsson was... well... Gustavsson and an additional goalie with some actual skill could have helped... for a 2nd round pick.... when your coach is asking for it.... right before you fire him...

Toronto already had a handful of UNPROVEN goalies...I don't think they really wanted to trade for another one...IMHO. I'm sure all the armchair GM's would have loved that...trade for a unexperienced goalie and have him lose too!!!!

I guess I wasn't thinking about how full the leafs' goaltender cupboard was in 2011-2012 back when they had Monstar, concusseimer and Scrivenator and how they could easily afford to pass on a good prospect for a 2nd round pick when their coach had identified that (and rightfully so becasue their goalies sucked donkey balls last year) as an issue and a need he needed filled.

Not sure he was even shopped..some of these GM's only trade with certain teams/Gm's etc...anyways...in hind site..they might wish they had traded for him..still doesn't guarantee a playoff spot and maybe a 12 or 13th pick instead of 5th
