I feel like it's those same people who find every little thing to nitpick about with him too. Like the fact that he's not great in the defensive zone.

I kind of wonder if they're really watching the games. Nobody we have is good in the defensive zone right now. So why it's a problem for only him, I'll never figure out.

Anyway you slice it.....it was a good hockey trade that made sense for both teams. A lot seem to think you have to rip someone off to make a good trade. Whiners complain about Cody but he is exactly what the same whiners were clamoring for prior to the trade. He's a skilled offensive center who is a little defensively liable at this point. But he is working on it...kid works hard and kills penalties. Probably more situated for the #2 center spot but has not looked lost in the #1 role. Plain and simple he a very good player to build around......I'm with ya, will never understand those who want it both ways.

I think the trade was perfect. Kassian never did anything to overly impress me in the first place. He seemed to get stuck in neutral after he was drafted. I think Foligno jumped him developmentally after they were drafted so it made Kassian expendable. The club probably felt he was the better player to move over Foligno because of the character issues that seemed to follow him around as well.

I would make that trade again in a second.

Alex sulzer....a German player...has not done much in NHL, but is 27 years old and known to Erhoff and Hecht. This is a good 7th defenseman.

What did people think would happen when Hodgson and Ennis were put into the number 1 and 2 center roles? Growing pains!

I'm starting to think that everyone has forgotten how bad Briere could be in the defensive zone.

The way I look at it is Cody is still young. He works hard. He's seems to be the type that's always trying to be a better player. I think it'll come with time. In the meantime, he's not as brutal as some people are saying either.
