he is so f'n streaky.. that is why I don't like Vanek.. you can never count on him to be there in the games you really need him... and he is ALWAYS hurt in the playoffs... Boston and Philly he was hurt if I remember correct.

He is not going to be the basis of our rebuild.. not at 7.1M.. we aren't going to give him a raise...

Not true. There are a lot of teams that would look at Pominville and see a consistant player, there's teams that would want Stafford, despite the popular belief on here that he's worthless, I bet if Stafford were placed on waivers, he wouldn't clear.

We see this all the time, a lot of people here said Gaustad had no worth, same with Boyes, but just because they're 'trash' here, doesn't mean they're not needed somewhere else.

Look at Sulzer. Not the best example right now, but Sulzer was a great addition to our D-Line last year. Looking like Pardy will be as well.

I'd keep an open mind.

THey need a new identity, and i don't care who they move but it needs to be a bunch of them and Vanek is one of the few that actually has value.. you can't get crap for stafford, gerbe and the rest of the crap on the 3rd and 4th line.. no one will sign here as a free agent if we have the same core of uninspired players unless we grossly over pay and we are more than 1 or 2 moves away from being good.

no way, stewart is lazy and shattenkick is tiny and a one trick poney just like brennan. i would hope we could get more if miller and vanek are included. i kind of like gerbe75s proposal though...

But if you throw money at enough guys, you have to think it sticks to one of them.

kind of what i was thinking.. he is starting to fade, and who knows how long it might be before he scores again, he tends to disappear for weeks.. get somethign well the getting is good. i would do that trade it sends a message.. i also we make it clear that i am entertaining pommer for picks and prospects

I cant believe I am about to say this but I think I agree with Mike Schopp. I think this team does miss Derek Roy.

Yep. Still like Ott though. We had no future with Roy. Ott gives 48 as many (frank)s as Roy did.

Vanek is not resigning with Buffalo because it isn't like we are going to give him a raise... it just isn't a winning situation for us right now.. his salary is already maxed out to what it should be..

he will probably pull the Semin or Hossa role and just sign 1 or 2 year deals wroth 7M a piece... Detroit... then Pittsburgh... then a long term deal
