I don't know that TB will buy out Lecavalier, although that contract is quite ridiculous. I would like to have him on this team but honestly I don't know what it would take to get him. If they buy him out I would be fine signing him to a similar hit with a shorter term. Also, who's to say that he would want to come to Buffalo? Him with Vanek and Pommer would be a sick line though agreed.
I like the idea of trading Pommer over Vanek. Vanek has shown a lot more character through all this crap, and he is a finisher, the only real finisher on our team. We would need real top-6 talent coming back trading Pommer. To be completely honest with you if we traded him away I worry about the decisions about who would become captain. I would want Ott to be captain, but I think Miller or Vanek would take that the wrong way. It should be Ott or Vanek, I would lean towards Ott.
ROR I like on our team too. However he isn't worth all that they are asking. He is still unproven and young, and now is acting like a selfish punk which isn't what we need. That being said he is a solid defensive center which would help our team immensely. If we can get him for a D, Stafford and a pick I would do it. - rsj2588
I don't normally agree with players holding out but they gave David Jones $4mil so I see his point(in a way). They also have almost 17mil in cap space.

they need to make about 5 moves IMO for that type of run though IMO
Foligno should be a High end 3rd line Checking winger-He is a 2nd line power Forward.
Hodgson should be a nice 2nd line scoring center. We need him to be are #1 guy. Gerbe should be a 60 point player in the AHL, instead he is playing on our Powerplay and top 9 minutes.
Jochen Hecht should be playing golf!
Reger, Leopold, and Sulzer all good 6 or 7 D man- WE need them to play top 4 minutes.
Stafford and Ennis would make a nice 3rd line with Foligno-here they are our 2nd line. - Pillar

Forwards - Vanek (1st line), Pominville (1st or 2nd), Hodgson (2nd/3rd line as scoring center until ready to do more), Leino (gone, buyout), Stafford (gone, trade or buyout, no/inconsistent compete), Ott (perfect 3rd line), Foligno (perfect 3rd line), Grigorenko (way too early to tell, needs the AHL), Gerbe (AHL), Ennis (2nd or 3rd line center, or wing), Kaleta (perfect 4th line, provided 4th line gets consistent minutes as he deserves it, McCormick (center for 4th line)
Defense - Myers (needs to be number 1, but more like 2 or 3 right now), Regehr (toast), Ehrhoff (perfect 2), Leopold (toast), Sekera (ideal 4/5, more so 5), Weber (6 at best, more likely 7), Sulzer (6 or 7, at best)
To put it more accurately, imagine how much better the team would be if Vanek-Hodgson-Pominville were the second line and Foligno-Ennis-Ott were the 3rd line, with a brand new first line consisting of guys like O'Reilly & Perry.
The team would be immediately MUCH better. It is long past time to cut the dead weight.

So nice to see people finally taking a more holistic view of this team rather than suggesting that only 1 or 2 moves need to be made!!! BRAVO!!!
If you want to maximize return you need to move these guys this season before they are on expiring contracts. Whoever you don't plan on re-signing next season needs to be traded this season.
