Move Knubs, Feds and Gervais for a couple of mid/late rounders.

Hope to god someone shows interest in Briere. An extra 2nd rounder would go a long way for our farm depth. Kimmo, I could care less at this point. He's toast. Could've moved him too if not for that extra year.

it was very similar. and this team seems to be playing defense worse than when stevens was the coach. and i hated him.

only problem is i hate terry murray even more.

I'm in the same boat. Do not think Murray is the answer long term.

He might be a short term fix, but I dont want a guy that you know you will probably have to replace.

More than anything they are working hard.

Thats what the Leafs did tonight, outworked the Flyers in every way. Does anyone honestly believe the Leafs have more talent than the Flyers?

It comes down to hard work, and for the first time I am starting to look at coaching changes if this keeps up all season. They need someone who will instill a culture of hard work, and unfortunately it may cost the coach his job.

Sucks to say because I believe in a lot of what Lava preaches but a change may be needed here. It wouldnt if they would just (frank)ing wake up on their own.

These teams work harder Bc they salivate when the likes of knuble, Briere, Simmonds hit the ice they can't wait to work in the offensive zone. We have too many forwards that are terrible in their own zone. The flyers will miss the playoffs they couldn't get to .500 on this homestand

i'd be pretty shocked if a team was willing to trade anything for bruno gervais, to be quite honest. i'd probably say the same about knuble

that's my biggest issue - the veterans aren't contributing enough. i don't think a coaching change will make any difference.
- hammarby31

I think they obviously need lineup changes. I like the young core up front but other than that you have a bunch of streaky players aside from Hartnell.

I am starting to also believe they need a new voice to go along with those changes.

With everything else, its an evaluation year and Id make changes in the summer. That includes coaching.

No Flyers team plays every game hard for a full 60 minutes anymore in the NHL.

To me this isnt even about defensive zone coverage. Before the 3rd period began they gave up 2 goals.

Even all the bad defensive coverages this season. They happen because they dont back-check hard, or simply lose battles.

Aside from Giroux, Hartnell, Voracek who consistently pushed the pace tonight? Who was skating hard with any consistency?

First goal. Bryz should have had that one. Timonen lost a step, and it was a good shot, but Bryz played the shot poorly

I think the failures this season has less to do with coaching and more to do with

A lack of team depth
Deteriorating skill set of timonen and briere coupled with very young players thrust into Bigtime roles
A glaring lack of defensive hockey sense from a number of the forwards

Every Coach is going to have to replaced at some point. It's just a question of when. I don't want to advocate a Coaching change. But this Coach isn't getting this team to play the right way.

And for those who think the team is missing a few pieces. That's true. But that should be the difference between being a top team and just a playoff team. That's not why this team is playing the way it has this Season. This team has enough talent as is, to be a solid playoff team. Not a contender, but a playoff team.
