Take it easy. I thought you were immune to the whole 'schticks and stones' routine.

Gagne was a very good player for an extended period for the Flyers. I don't get the reverence he's held in by some. Among LW's this team has had, he's no better than 4th on the list, behind Barber, Propp and LeClair.

Gagne's got 5 assists and 20 SOG through 11 games. For some reason he's been highly ineffective. There's been talk about sitting Knuble on these boards...Gagne wouldn't be much more than fodder for similar talk.
- tangent_man

I tend to agree. If Gagne could find his scoring touch again, he'd be a great weapon for Giroux, however, if he can't, he'd be almost completely ineffective. He is not a guy who can make up for his lack of offense with his physical play. I just don't think he has enough left in the tank.

I mean if you have enough room for MCA, you need to have Mongo

He will do something I'm sure. He's a proactive GM. I'm glad he hasn't rushed out and made a trade and overpaid for a rental player trying to replace the injured guys who went down early. I'm surprised he wasn't in on guys like Ellerby and Lokitinov. Those guys were given away.
- PLindbergh31

They were given away for a reason.

It can. And sometimes it won't matter. I've just noticed that you've mentioned both players numerous times. I don't think the Flyers missed out on much.

Depends on what the alternatives are. I would rather have young guys with upside, opposed to guys like Gervais and Fedetenko.

I was talking about this on Twitter on Saturday night: what do you think about trading a AHLer/late round pick for Simon Gagne? He was a healthy scratch on Saturday.
- NickTheKid87

Oh Lord, the Leafs and Flyers really are soul-brothers.

Nothing like giving a guy a victory lap for his career.

We brought back Wendel. Twice.

Gilmour once.

Yanic Perrault 78 times.

It's never a good idea.
