That video never gets old. Awesome.

Nope. I probably watch that 2 or 3 times a year during hockey season...mainly whever someone posts it here

If Daley were a Flyer, I'd guarantee he'd become the most criticized D-man on the team ("can't get a shot on net," "too many turnovers", "is alergic to hitting") although he's actually a pretty good puck-moving D man and not a bad defender the majority of the time.
- bmeltzer

Bill, I completely defer to your expertise when it comes to scouting reports on current Stars.

Of the two, I was just thinking that Daley would be cheaper to acquire (length of contract, maybe buyer's remorse on the cap hit), and he might be more of a transition-game booster -- a destitute man's Carle.

I don't think there's any question that Robidas brings more in terms of pure value to the lineup.

If it were up to me, though, I'd eschew vets completely in favor of sniffing out the next Coburn-esque steal.

Thanks, I still remember pretty clearly that hunter hit on him in the 93 playoffs. One of the dirtiest plays ever.

What you were buying was completely irrelevant to the story, but definitely made it more fascinating. Thank you for sharing.

It was really at the Rite Aid, and he and Coatesy shared a chuckle that they were both their for their Valtrex

Me too. That was unreal. Other than the McSorley incident with Brashear it's the dirtiest play I can think of off hand.

The part that really gives me chills is when he scores the goals. He was such a dynamic goaltender, baffles me that he's not in the HOF. Glad he got his ring last year though.

I was very fortunate to get to see the Spectrum the year before it got torn down and took a tour on the floor and stood where he shot it from.

Bertuzzi on Moore was wild as well.

One of the few Philadelphia athletes I can think that, at least outwardly, wanted his team to win more than we, as fans, did.

Yup. When he rammed him face first into the ice.

I thought McSorley should have faced criminal action for what he did. He could have turned Brashear into a vegetable.

I was saying that earlier. Roll with that d healthy and we're not too bad IMO. I'd like to limit Timo's minutes a bit and when mesz is healthy and can take on more. Add a guy at the deadline if it can be done for an AHLer or a 3rd or lower pick. Bring Gervais in when needed in the 6 role. I should be a (frank)ing GM.
- Hextall271

Agreed. I think the thing we are/ need to focus on is what to do when Kimmo goes. He is our lynchpin and currently there is no real heir apparent. Right now I feel like we are looking for Meszaros or Coburn to step up, and they could. But I think we really need to look for that elusive potential elite puckmover. Right now I'm very interested in seeing how Ghostbear develops.

If every player on the current team had his drive to win, they'd be playing for the cup each year.

Once timo goes, the hole will have to be filled by trade or UFA. At least they bought one more year to make that move.

I'm going to disagree here.

He didn't really hit him all that hard. The damage was done when Brashear's head hit the ice - because he was wearing a Jofa bucket with no protection, and it wasn't even on his head properly.

Don Cherry swears McSorley was just trying to whack him on the arm, and it missed.

McSorley's history works against him.

Like, by a lot.

Toronto is much improved this season, with an assist from the flyers. I personally think they can come away with a win. Outside of not adjusting properly to the panthers on a back to back, our team has been great.

He's a complete moron. He swung his stick like an axe and hit Brashear in the temple. Had it been a more "gentlemanly" player than Brashear who McSorley hit I believe he would have been punished more severely.

Conversely, I have no issue with Domi's hit on Niedermayer!

Flyers should come out guns blazing tonight. They want to redeem their awful performance at the ACC. I think the Flyers finally get back to .500. A 4-3 win.

4-1 with an EN goal. Goal scorers will be Talbot, Giroux, Kadri, Hartnell, Giroux in that order.

If I'm 100% right, what do I get?

I was going to call a Talbot goal tonight. Have to figure he's due right.

Orr would have had the GWG if not for the Flyers goal in garbage time.

That's my thinking. Maybe Couts finally buries one after a flurry of great chances over the past few games?
