Amazing. They shouldn't be happy with that -- and I don't think they will.
There really does seem to be this feeling or thought process on the team that they are never out of any game they play and it shows in the confidence they display on the ice, at least so far through the 1st 19.
Who would have thought that the great tandem of Seabrook and Keith would only be +2 each ---- wait for it --- while the tandem of Hjalmarsson (+8) and Oduya (+10) and our "3rd" pair of Rozsival (+9) and Leddy (+7) are both appearing much more solid on the ice!!!!!
We saw evidence of that last night looking at the TOI. Another bad set of decisions by 2 & 7 leading to less TOI and more for the other guys.
As good as the team has played thus far, I continue to say that when (hopefully not if) 2 and 7 finally get their act together, this team WILL BE SCARY GOOD. Wouldn't mind seeing them improve their play over the course of the last 1/2 of the 48 and into the playoffs.
The commitment we're seeing, too, from the forwards on the backchecking as well as the shorter, quicker passes/outlets out of our zone have really made a difference. That, of course, and the fact that we now have 3 solid pairs of D!!!!
