gotta remember that Hallsy had 4 points in that 8-4 game, and 3 points in that 9-2 game. Hall missing is huge. Also gotta remember that they were two flukey games, and the blackhawks have (IMO) the best team in the league, and unless there's another underdog crazy run like LA had last year, CHI'll win the cup

What I've been wondering lately, as this team sits at 15-0-3 with three-eighths of the season in the books, is whether we see this same level of play from the Hawks had the season started on time back in October. The first week or so, many teams looked rusty after the long layoff, but it's been over a month now and the Hawks are still finding ways to win and against very good teams, I might add. Either way, it's in the past and I'm glad to see them playing so well. The only thing better than a remarkable start is a remarkable finish in June. Let's keep it going!

The streak is a blessing and a curse.

We're blessed to be off to such a great start ,stockpiling points and playing great team hockey.

But the pressure to maintain that pace with a big ole target on us now will only become more intense. How we deal with the inevitable rough stretch will be telling...and of course...if we don't win the Cup...THE START will be but a footnote.

I respect your team immensely. Eberle's my boy...what a beautiful, natural goal scorer he is. Your new coach seems to be a quality, 'take no guff' guy and i've always been a huge fan of Smitty. Great to see him score on his birthday for the 2nd year in a row. And Khabibulin looks very sharp at this point in time.

#worried.

CHI has 30 games left and the playoff cut off will be around like 56 points. So CHI'll have to go something like 10-17-3. Wow. (I realize blackhawk fans don't have to worry about making the playoffs but being an oiler fan is rough) Wow.

Eberle's move totally fooled me even though I expected him to go backhand shelf.

I'm honestly speechless. I'll be back every game day blog now to listen to all of your reasonable comments. I don't even know what to say. You haven't made a negative remark about EDM. Such a change of pace.

We don't kick people when there down. Unless someone (canuck fans) bring it out of us we deal with our own issues before we care about anyone else's...
I have to add in Detroit but they don't scare us like they use too...

The Hawks are gonna lose sometime. Second of a back to back against a young, talented though inconsistent Oilers team.

The Oilers I think really get amped for the Hawks, because they see a little of the same in the mirror. This will be a tough game and I predict the Oilers come out flying and will be tough to beat.

In fact, knocking off the Blackhawks could do wonders for the psyche of the young Oilers and could potentially be the impetus for them turning it on. Don't be shocked if the Oilers kids come hard tomorrow. Should be a fun game.

whatever the outcome (I obviously predict a CHI win), it'll be an incredibly entertaining game. CHI's my 2nd favorite team by a mile. Kane's gotta be the prettiest player to watch in the league. Like Yak, he's just so...swift. 2 fast teams with plenty of fire power.

Because you guys have the goods hanging in your rafters. Us Hawks fans respect Edmonton because as much as it sucked, you guys possibly prevented some good Hawks teams from making a Cup finals run in the 1980s....

Basically, your franchise has the rings and that my friend is to be respected.

I know a rebuild is tough, but your guys have some great young players. Don't forget players like Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook started their careers on some pretty crummy teams. You guys will get there...just be patient and if you get cold, wrap up in one of those Stanley Cup banners.

yeah...but as JJ says stay out of the box; this team can't score 5 on 5. Hawks have gibe this team 3 3rd period pp's = asking for trouble

I know it, which is strange to me. There is enough firepower in that Oiler lineup to score. I worry about their PK and blueline, never figured scoring goals even up would be a major issue. I think it's just 'part of the process'...eventually they will start clicking.

again, speechless.

If the oilers ever turn out, I'll be going in to other teams blogs telling them they suck 24/7.

Too bad EDM doesn't have any Keiths or Seabrooks. And as much as I'd love a guy like Seabrook (just think he'd be a great fit) that's physical with a booming shot, Keith's so great all over the ice. His ability to beat forwards in his own end with just his skating is incredible. If Crawford can pull up his socks, this team'll win the cup this year (and maybe the next...and the next). I went to game 1 and 2 of the CHI-PHO series last year and the stories of the series were Mike Smith and Corey Crawford. CHI dominated the tempo of the game both games, but Smith put his team on his shoulders and Crawford looked a little shaky.

way too early bro.
no question the best team in the league at the moment, but there's ebs and flows and some really good teams out there.
to count out boston, pittsburgh, vancouver, st.louis among a few others would be foolhardy. no one should be surprised if any of these teams win it all
