Yeah, wonder what the whole process is? I'm guessing Ek has to grant permission, and I highly doubt he ducks in here enough to see how much another mod is warranted.

There's already a good rivalry with LA and SJ IMO, the Canucks and those teams definitely hate each other. I'd actually put both those teams in the top 5 rivalries for the Canucks right now and I don't even know if I can name 5 rivals right now since the NW division games aren't doing it for me.

Just saying that we should be in that division, why are Dallas and Phoenix in the Pacific?

Dallas is closer to Florida than to San Jose, and not by a small margin!

It's probably based on the number of users in each area. TO has by far the most "fans", and therefore gives and receives the most trolling, so they need the most mods. I would say that Ian generates a significant enough number of hits to warrant more moderation, and Micah has said he's been busier at work lately.

Meh, just looking at a map and the NW division makes sense wants you move out one of MIN/COL out for WIN. Adding Seattle would really help and have both MIN and COL out of the division. Move Colorado to the Pacific instead of Dallas and then one of DET/NAS to the East.

the nhl pushses certain rivalries that never work out
one example is capitals and their southern teams. the part that buttman forgets about is the teams actually have to be good for there to be a rivalry and then the fans have to care.

Too many mods/refs is just as bad as not enough though IMO.

columbus is not that much farther east then us, and who gives a poop about columbus any way. Nashville cans stay west with chicago.

I think fewer divisions would be better, two conferences, two divisions in each conference. Means more divisional games, better rivalries.

Didn't notice CBJ(can you blame me? ), but yea they could also be a candidate to go East. There's no perfect way to do it IMO. The East is easy since so many teams are bunched together, but the West is always going to be way too spread out.

[quote=IanEsplen]can someone tell Colin McDonald why he got two games a few weeks back and Shaw got nothing?

pretty much the same play

The difference is that McDonald drilled his face into the glass. Shaw put him into the boards at the bench and that is it. 1-2 games at most imho. Clowe should get the 10 for being an asshat.

Agree, especially seeing as there is as much consistency in HB justice as there is in NHL discipline.

I hate the 4 division/conference idea, it's incredibly stupid to have unbalanced divisions in any professional league.

forget columbus, crap team, i hope they turn it around really but, seriously theyve never been good, one of the many NHL teams that loses money.

all this talk of expansion, yes I believe a team in Quebec would make money but would a team in Seattle make money in the long term?

They could have North/South conferences with East/West divisions. As far as balance goes, that changes year to year, depending on who keeps tanking to get the top pick

EDIT - love you too

Seattle is one of the biggest cities(population-wise) in North America so it makes sense to try it if they have the arena ready and a good ownership group willing to buy the team there They would ave a good rivalry with Vancouver and the est of the NW pus the Pacific teams if they have a decent team themselves. Quebec would definitely make a ton of money, as would a second Toronto team. I'd rather see those 3 new teams rather than teams franchises like Phoenix and Florida struggling every year(IMO one Florida team is enough).

I meant actual number of teams in each division, since the proposed 4 conference idea has 2 of the more Eastern conferenced with just 7 teams each and the more Western/Central based ones with 8 each.

Yeah, I got a new job. It's a lot of 9-10 hour days and they don't let you sit around on the internet all day. It's great for me because I'm getting paid better and I actually like being at work now, but I can't be here all day to moderate.

With Howard back, the Wings should put up a good fight. Hopefully, the Canucks have recovered from the back-to-backs and gotten a good nights sleep. I might need an afternoon nap if it's anything like the game in Nashville.
