I hope I am wrong about him but I don't get the hype. Most of these players get hyped up by Snow and company and come in the NHL doing nothing. For once I would like to just watch a winning team. Losing todays game was a big blow. We gave up a two goal lead to an easy team to beat. To top it off a win today would have put us in the playoffs ahead of the Rangers in the Atlantic. Now we have to wait until Thursday for our next game and hope for a win against a Leafs team that has been playing well.

They always have a loss like this when it's a big game. They don't have a winning attitude, look at their coach. Time out up by 2 goals going on the PP to rest your 1st line, cocky SOB. Bush league jackass. Embarrassment.

Garth made his biggest move of the year by sending DP down. You heard his interview he loves this team. Boyes is a beast.
- mighty13duck

Garth Snow is a (frank)ing clown and anyone who thinks he's a good GM is a (frank)ing clown too. The guy is an absolute moron, anyone who believe his BS knows nothing about hockey or anything for that matter on that note good night all. (frank) you Snow!

ugh, I cant believe we can just once take some good momentum and run with it.
You lose to team missing 6 starters and once again we gave another rookie NHL his first NHL goal. is that the 3rd in a week?

Poulin did let in a softy 2nd goalie but he did plenty to give isles win.

THE BLAME goes on 2nd and 3rd line. Lines that do absolutely NOTHING. KO does suck and Im actually starting to get worried about Bailey now. He looked amazing in first game back and instead of getting better he getting worse.

I said 3 games ago that AUCOIN's fairy does wore off. He hasnt done anything for this team since that ot win in Jersey over a month ago.

UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

This! You are not winning anything being a one line team even with Patrick Roy in net. How many more chances will guys like KO and Bailey get when you can bring up Nino? If Snow is not willing to give up and KO and Bailey then bring in a coach like Ruff that may be able to turn them around. Even Wang should not have a problem paying Ruff but I'm sure Snow does not want to get upstaged by Ruff.

nino is not the answer. Soundtigers are equally bad and they have dropped like 3-4 straight games. nino hasnt taken over a game this year for them. He would fit in. another loser attitude that is more upset he isnt collecting his NHL contract.

He has one goal all of last year.

Guaranteed after those questions Butch will be the next one to interview Snow. "So Garth tell us how you built such a great team?" Garth "Well we just wanted to stay the course. The great leadership from Reasoner and Streit is providing a great foundation for the young guys to learn from."

Nino may or may not be the answer but I'll take my chances with Nino over Bailey and KO.

i wouldnt. Remember when bailey went to AHL for conditioning stint? he was putting up 2pts a night.

Nino should not be exposed to this disaster. what do you want him united with REASONER again.

Boyes played excellent game by the way.

If this team won 5 in row then lost one game then you can call it whining. They lost to a team with a ton of injuries up by two at home with a chance to get to 500 and the 8th seed. This was a huge loss.

not looking to start shat but since you "missed the game" your previous posts are negated. Specifically the "whining" references. That being said, Poulin is DP reincartated. We need scoring by someone NOT named Tavares or Moulson

He's not the answer, I agree. He is a developing tender who may be good or may not be some day? A real number one would be great with that said we can't even get a legit third liner on this team let alone a legit number one goaltender. This team needs a new owner, GM, and coach and then maybe we can get some real players.

Nillson has always been the better prospect!

You think scratching Ullstrom is the reason the Isles have been better in their own zone? Don't really agree...I'd argue Nabby was a much bigger reason the team didn't yield a goal in Buffalo and why they were able to come back in Mtl. I feel like whenever there is a nonsensical scratch, we come up with reasons to justify it. Every forward except Grabner and Cizikas has either the same or worse +/- than Ullstrom...don't think he's been that bad, and certainly nearly every commenter here was raving about his game up until he was scratched...then people start picking him apart, forgetting that they were all recently lobbying for him to be on the first line. There's definitely room in the lineup for him, imo. What is Aucoin really adding to the second line that Ullstrom can't do better?
- UIF

I'm not sure why he is sitting but he has made 2 glaring mistakes in his own zone the last couple games in. So I'm assuming that is why the coaches have sat him. I'm not going to argue that it's right. I don't think it's right. He can actually add some balance to the lines. Aucoin, reasoner have been fine if you have a team of 3 consistent lines. But they, okposo, bailey are doing nothing to add scoring to the team. That needs to change. And the isles need a backup goalie that doesn't allow at least one god awful putrid goal a game. How many goals have we scored like that this year?

Most will disagree, but I think KP will serve as a decent backup. I noticed he drops too quickly and tends to flop a bit...but honestly he looks 10X more athletically fit than DP. He did let in a REALLY bad goal, but i wont blame the loss solely on him. The defense and secondary scoring are the biggest issues hands down with this team. Boyes is strictly playing one dimensional hockey. Im not ready to give up on KP just yet...was it a really bad goal...yes...but i still feel pretty confident with him in net. We'll see if my opinion changes sooner rather than later with the upcoming games.

nino and nelson are currently getting the poop kicked out of them on a nightly basis..after about 6 guys the entire team is full of echl tryouts as the team is destroyed by injuries...nino is not tavares or moulson...but i do believe he is alot better than okposo and bailey

i do beleive that KP's ceiling is backup nhl goalie..which isn't horrible...yes Nilsson is clearly the better prospect but he is dealing with some serious helath issues which i'm trying to get a confirmation of what it is. i was told its not life threatening(so not cancer) but it is life aletering

here is the bottom line with this team. the goaltending is good enough on most nights. the defense isn't great but its bearable. the clear problem with this team is the second line and in part the third line... the top line and the fourth line are fine. they would be a playoffs team if anyone on the middle six not named grabner could pop in some goals... so the season rests on the likes of Bailey Nielsen Okposo and Aucoin

Whose worse right now. Aucoin or ko. I can't tell. Bailey is a close 3rd.

Reasoner will never score. He shoots puck right into every goalies chest. Sorry for all the rants. This loss was far worse then the drop game in Winnipeg

They aren't going to beat Boston. Next chance is against is vs Toronto and don't expect that one to be easy. Especially after how we embarrassed them. I'm more confident in isles ability to string together more loss streaks now then win streaks.

Poulin had good chance to show us he has what he takes. He lost. Dp probably was happy last night. Worst of all why was he smiling after game. I would smack that smirk off his face if I could.

Here is what I do. I put Martin on top line.

Demote aucoin to 4th. Bench ko. Move boyes back on 2nd. He played well on that line as well.

Slot ullstrom with reasoner and grabs.

Even though we Demoted him. I really want to drop aucoin. He brings nothing.
He was 33% from faceoffs circle and whiffed on a scoring opportunity

Forget the playoffs then because if you're going to count on 3rd and 4th line guys it's going to be a long road. The Islanders roster is made up of 2 top 3 forwards and the rest are 3/4th line players. The defense is mediocre at best and goaltending is average.
