Stalberg I could see. Bickell is our most consistant physical player thus far and the last few years has turned it up come playoff time. Unless it's for a significant upgrade, I wouldn't move Bickell. All in this year is the way to go. - NewToHockey
agree go for it all and any piece aquired is done with prospects
But Cole would be, if Hossa is severly concussed. His cap hit is 4M$ and scored 35 goals last year. He s having a slow start this year, but is game is coming along. - soad_live
Hossa is ok. He was pulled from the game as a precaution.
I agree! While I much prefer the story line of the book to the movie, it wouldn't have made for a good on screen spectacle. - paulr
The written story would have made a horrid film. Maybe at best a TV special. However, you get a far more believable reason for his being in the game in the short story while still getting the "fighting back against Big Brother" feel from the movie.

Sorry, but I can't believe you used "Bickell" and "consistant" in the same sentence without the word "absent" in it. He disappears for games at a time.

With Shaw getting no league discipling on the boarding, Elspen has dubbed them as the "ever so saint-like Blackhawks" in his new blog. - NewToHockey
Isn't it ironic their HB "representation" calls the 'Hawks names when everyone and their mother knows the Nux are the biggest bunch of dive artists in the league. Wow!
Guess when one has an inferiority complex, things like that tend to come out.

Funny coming from a team of divers, biters and hair pullers. And Elspen is the quintessential homer, I have never read anything but how great the Canucks are in relation to the rest of the league. And his blogs about what Luongo would fetch in a trade were beyond priceless, he completely dismisses reality in anything he writes so he can slant everything in the Canucks favour. Oh well, it’ll be interesting to read his explanation when the Canucks lose again this year effectively closing the window on any hope of their winning a cup with the current core group.
I dont want to move stalberg either
I want a power forward as depth for injury and an upgrade to carcillo - molly2522
While it would be hard to break up the current team chemistry, the logical player to move would be Stalberg due to his upcoming UFA status and the fact he makes so many unforced giveaways.
We're playing Columbus on a Sunday after making history on Friday night. Needles to say . . .

Always love watching that video. Certainly should be a tougher match-up as the Jackets have to outwork the Hawks as some of their better and skilled guys are out. Jack Johnson got put on IR, so Johansen is taking his spot in the lineup.

Sort of, except Johnson is a dman and Johansen is a C/W.
Just curious.....i don't see a lot of hawks games, but pretty much all i've read about stallberg in this thread is "no finish", "one dimensional", turnover machine".....so why would the sens trade a quality player like neil, who is also one of the leaders of this team, for a player that, from what you guys have said, brings little value and in all likliehood wouldn't be back next year anyways.
If the sens are gonna make a trade with the hawks, i'm assuming the player they'd want in return is hjalmersson (sp?) or a young quality prospect. Stallberg doesn't help ottawa, can't imagine they'd want him.

Before this season, Hammer would've been one of the first guys I'd have thought to be dangled and traded. But the guy is in top form right now and has been incredibly solid playing with Oduya. I just don't think he should be traded right now especially with how much he has stepped up his play.
With Stalberg though, if you had watched him, you would see likely one of the fastest straight-line skaters in the league. The guy wreaks havoc on the forecheck against slow, plodding d-men and generally keeps his head in his own zone. You throw the guy on a line with a playmaker like Spezza and you've got potential for a lot of good things to happen there. His finishing did seem to improve over last season.

Well, Stalberg is one of the favorite whipping boys of this thread.
I think he is much better than that. He can take over games and stretches of games. Has maybe the best size/speed combination in the league. He can disappear for stretches, but to my eye that has been less and less the case over the last couple of years. He is pretty good defensively. Honestly, i think the reason the Hawks are even entertaining dealing him is they might not be able to afford re-signing him and a few other guys coming up this summer.
