Season is 1/3 over. Hawks look great but they do have the feeling of a great regular season team and maybe not a team perfectly built (yet) for the grind of the playoffs. Their most physical forward, by far, is Bryan Bickell. Not a huge problem, but also not something to really inspire fear on the other side or tremendous confidence on the Hawks' side.
I think whatever move might be made will be a tweak. Rumor I heard a week or two ago was Chris Neil.
I will say, a surprisingly huge percentage of the rumors I have heard coming out of the Hawks in terms of players they have been interested in for well over a year now are Neil type players. The Hawks want to be tougher to play against. - John Jaeckel
Do ya think Ottawa would do Bickell and Stalberg for a chris Neil? Or minor leaguer (Perri) perhaps and one of the 2 for him?
Morgan Freeman is right up there with Gene Hackman for me as one of the great "working actors" of film history. His verbal beatdown of Denzel Washington's character in Glory was some of the best acting I've ever seen.
(And that includes Gary Johnston in Team America World Police) - John Jaeckel
In total agreement on Freeman and the great Hackman....and BTW...i'll stop whatever the phuck i'm doing to watch Glory....8 days a week.
Sorry, Freeman's performance probably exceeded his narration...didn't mean to slight his role. And you're right...the TEAM of actors were BRILLIANT. The Warden, his top lieutenant, and all of Andy's buddy's were GOLD. - philco28
Clancy, who is a GREAT guy, BTW. Also played the Monster in Franc Roddam's The Bride (w Sting and a luscious young Jennifer Beals)

Couldn't agree more. His ability to play various parts without being the same guy, as someone like Kevin Costner does, is amazing. While on the subject of Denzel, his portrayal of John Creasy in Man on Fire was IMO his best work.

Think Bickell and Stalberg would be an overpay by the Hawks, but would not be surprised to see Stalberg-Neil with some minor add-in(s) as the deal if something happens

If I were a betting man, I'd bet a months rent money that the Sens would be looking for futures. The Leafs also have some interesting pieces, I really like McCemment and a guy, Franson who can get pucks to the net from the point, is also intriguing.
Another Leafs where a team may be able to buy low for potential high reward is Nikolai Kumemin who has a ton of skill great skating ability, problem is severe inconsistancy.
Anybody interested in Markov or Cole?? - soad_live
Markov is a good D-man, but incredibly often injured - No thanks.
Don't care for Cole, he's on the wrong side of 30 and he's done a lot of whining recently. Threatened to retire after this season because he didn't like how the CBA turned out. We've already got a 30-year-old making around 6 million, don't need another.

He was great in a hidden 80's gem called Bad Boys...set in Chicago and starring Sean Penn. Here's where Brown (Viking) and his buddy (Tweedy) thought they were going to get Sean Penn...but he had other ideas.

Believe me, you will have to overpay for that freak. Cause that's what is becoming.
But Desharnais would be the best addition for you guys. He would put incredible numbers with the Hawks. He comes cheap and would cost you a prospect or a 2nd round pick.

As they would say in the League on FX "trade-rape"
The first game of the home stand may have been...but this could be too. I hate to look past any National Hockey League team...but tomorrow's game vs a wildly talented Edmonton team will be a real challenge, especially since we're playing tonight as well. - philco28
No one made the Hawks look as bad as the Oilers did last year. Hopefully Gagne won't go for 8 points again.

Markov is not a good fit for the Hawks.
But Cole would be, if Hossa is severly concussed. His cap hit is 4M$ and scored 35 goals last year. He s having a slow start this year, but is game is coming along.
Freeman doesn't only do a great job narrating but his acting is on par with Robbins IMO. Lots of great acting in smaller parts too.
I have a book of short stories published under King’s pseudonym, Richard Bachman, that are less creepy buy no less suspenseful. If you are a fan and a reader I’d recommend it. - paulr
I highly recommend The Running Man. Totally different story than the movie.

Stals is good, maybe even just ok, but he ain't some 30 goal scorer!!! And if he goes on a hot streak scoring goals, you gonna pay him maybe 3m for his next contract. He's all speed and no finish.. If we get one goal a week from him were lucky!!! I'll take Neil's grit

Stalberg I could see. Bickell is our most consistant physical player thus far and the last few years has turned it up come playoff time. Unless it's for a significant upgrade, I wouldn't move Bickell. All in this year is the way to go.
