The first game of the home stand may have been...but this could be too. I hate to look past any National Hockey League team...but tomorrow's game vs a wildly talented Edmonton team will be a real challenge, especially since we're playing tonight as well.
- philco28

Tomorrow's game will be an especially tough challenge since the Jackets will try to hit the 'Hawks out of their own bldg. Just like they did in Columbus a few weeks ago. Remember how sluggish the 'Hawks were vs the Wings at home the following night. Though in that situation they did have to travel, albeit not that far and actually gained an hour timezone change.

If they're patient tonight and play simple, it'll be a fairly easy win.

Gotta say that i'm a little surprised the Hawks would be looking to tweak a roster that is rolling to say the least. Sometimes chemistry is the answer.

Hey Phil. Carryover from the last blog; did you say Detroit is not in the new alignment with the Hawks? If so I don't like it as much.

I know they've been pushing for a spot with the Eastern teams and totally understand why. For purely selfish reasons if they aren't in our division that erases the opportunity to see the Hawks at least a few times at the Joe every year.

- HawkintheD

Sorry bro...that's what it looks like....same thing happened to me when Chicago and Toronto were separated. Hawks only come to T.O. once every two years now when they used to come in 3-4 times a year.

CBJ banged up ?

Aaron Portzline ‏@Aportzline
#CBJ now without Brandon Dubinsky, Artem Anisimov and Jack Johnson - maybe the 3 players they lean on most.

And this is why the BJ's are horrible.

The thing about Edmonton is they have all kinds of talent without any leadership who have all but been put to pasture. So you have 4 guys who have prime top 6 positions, powerplay spots and letters on their shirts and none of it has been earned. Sure the sheer talent can take over but so far this year they have looked like a group of leaderless boy scouts lost in the woods.

Strange how such an unheralded movie is perhaps the best I have seen in the last 20 years. No special effects, just a great story and even better acting.

The game in Columbus was a wake up call. This BJacks team is a legit foe on any night, but now that they have been hit by injuries...they've been softened up somewhat. Like i said, NEVER want to take any game lightly, but we should be able to prevail tonight...and then face a dangerous Edmonton team with a red hot Buhlin Wall coming to town.

JJ...can you say what type of player the Hawks are scouting on the Sens and Leafs? Bottom 6 forward? Depth d-man?

Educated guess.

My guess would be big body, physical up front depth. That depth allowed them to roll 4 lines and switch up as needed when they won it all in 2010. Depth that allowed Sharp to play 2C for instance.

While this streak is all good right now, the playoffs are much more physical. And I can see this roster as presently constructed, potentially be run out of the building on some playoff nights.

Wanna say the fictional town of Derry, which was a setting for a number of King's novels

The fact that the brilliant but IMO, El Creepo Steven King, wrote the book...is pretty remarkable. For me, Tim Robbins' performance, along with Morgan Freeman's BRILLIANT NARRATION is what really makes this movie soar.

I'm not and I think it's a smart move.

Season is 1/3 over. Hawks look great but they do have the feeling of a great regular season team and maybe not a team perfectly built (yet) for the grind of the playoffs. Their most physical forward, by far, is Bryan Bickell. Not a huge problem, but also not something to really inspire fear on the other side or tremendous confidence on the Hawks' side.

I think whatever move might be made will be a tweak. Rumor I heard a week or two ago was Chris Neil.

I will say, a surprisingly huge percentage of the rumors I have heard coming out of the Hawks in terms of players they have been interested in for well over a year now are Neil type players. The Hawks want to be tougher to play against.

Freeman doesn't only do a great job narrating but his acting is on par with Robbins IMO. Lots of great acting in smaller parts too.

I have a book of short stories published under King’s pseudonym, Richard Bachman, that are less creepy buy no less suspenseful. If you are a fan and a reader I’d recommend it.

Also, character actor and voice talent Clancy Brown, who I've had the pleasure of working within the past, as the head guard.

Morgan Freeman is right up there with Gene Hackman for me as one of the great "working actors" of film history. His verbal beatdown of Denzel Washington's character in Glory was some of the best acting I've ever seen.

(And that includes Gary Johnston in Team America World Police)

Sorry, Freeman's performance probably exceeded his narration...didn't mean to slight his role. And you're right...the TEAM of actors were BRILLIANT. The Warden, his top lieutenant, and all of Andy's buddy's were GOLD.

JJ the type of player they are ooking for can be obtained withut loosing a current roster player is that correct?
I like an added bickell type player and this statement alone is a compliment to the way bickell has played this year

Now Bowman can operate from a position of strength...But as I said awhile ago, the early bird will catch the worm.

Sharp GM in Ottawa and their scout's box has been crowded for some time.
