yes I really beat cody bad. If i did i think he'd be better in our own end. I didn't sacrifice him. I did also point out earlier how I would only keep like 3 d men.. Was I out of line there too? You did the same thing you criticize me for.. ah well. haha.
- badgirrl

Where did I take one person and criticize them for the whole team's issues? Oh, wait, I didn't.

If you think Cody is the problem, that's fine. You're entitled to it. All I did was try to converse with you about it and state that I thought he was a microcosm of the problem.

If you don't want people to disagree with you here, then why are you here? Disagreements are going to happen all the time.

Does Cody need some work in the defensive zone? Yes. Is it bad enough that he should be taken off of the 1st line? I don't think so.

I've seen the same type of play in the defensive zone from Ennis. And Ennis doesn't generally get PK time. Cody does.

I agree I think 19 is developing into an all around player, I see a bright future for him here

this creates a bit of a problem though. As we need a true #1 center (at least for a few years).. where does that put cody? back on the 3rd line? theres no way I let him center the 2nd line. I believe ennis is doing well in coming along there. then he just seems to be the odd man out. I guess if we had 3 lines we could roll the on ice time more evenly. This place is a mess.
- badgirrl

I disagree about Ennis. He should be on the wing. They stuck him at center because they had no one else to put there and people bought in because that line had 25 good games. This year his wings have been useless. Some of that can be attributed to their play for sure. But I just think Ennis is another wing that was forced to center. His FO % has dipped to 41%. I would like to see Grigs center a line with Ennis and Foligno on the wings honestly.

I was playing on my iPad during the entire game... Barely looked up to watch the game unless I heard "goal".... This is the most uninterested I've ever been in a season since..???.. Whenever.

Since ever.....I'm right there with ya. I can't remember a time as a Sabres fan where I couldnt care less. I as well spent the whole game on the iPad only looking up long enough to laugh at them

I guess I just feel like Cody is the least of our problems. He's being asked to play in all situations and has helped his teammates produce while putting up points himself.

Things have slowed down for that line in recent games, but that's because they're getting all the focus since they're pretty much all we've got. They've still gotten some primo chances though. They just haven't been able to bury them.

In the scheme of things, there are so many other issues with this team that to take anyone from that first line and point out their deficiencies is silly, IMO.

Cody was terrible last night....with that said he is much farther down on the list for me in terms of issues...

Another reason why Regier should be fired today...if you are going to go this young up the middle - you have to bring in a veteran back 6 center for taking D-zone faceoffs and for mentoring tutoring these kids - what assistant coach ever played center to develop these guys.

It is great to sign free agent "talent" - Regier has no clue how to develop a team...the coaching staff is not the right mix....that falls on our GM - give him his pink slip now....

you've taken and criticized me.. you can disagree with me. I can't criticize you back? Something is wrong with this picture. I absolutely think his work in the defensive zone is deserving of being taken off the first line. Especially now when they are not even able to score any goals of their own. Handing this teams chances to score on you when you are not able to score yourself is a real problem.

I know Foligno hasn't put the puck in the net the same way he was last year, but I've still liked his play. He's got 8 points and he crashed the net all the time. If Stafford put in half of the effort that Foligno did on a nightly basis, we all wouldn't hate him as much as we do.

in the grand scheme of things he has a upside so I have to agree he isn't at the top of the list of whats wrong with this team. I have bigger fish to fry haha

Kevyn Adams. He was great at faceoffs and defensive zone play.

His offensive capabilities, however, were very limited.

I liked Foligno's efforts last year but I took away the feeling that he was the extra on the stafford/ennis line. This year I think different. Looking down the sabres future I think ennis/Foligno have something going. I'd love to see what more can develop with these two together.

no way do they trade all 3 of these guys: regehr, leopold, sekera. 2 of the 3 yes but all 3 I don't see that happening. Sekera is cap friendly so I think they'd keep him. I don't see them wanting to continue with regehr and leopold so they might as well get what they can for them and keep it moving.

same here. 6 minutes in the last 4 games isn't going to "develop" him in to anything. Ennis played center his whole career up until rochester if im not mistaken. Doesn't change the fact that he's not doing well at center this year.

I've been wanting him to get a goal so bad the last few games. He's doing all the right things. He's in the middle of all the chaos in front of the net every game. He just hasn't been able to bury one.

But I love the kid. He's a tenacious player and he leaves it all out on the ice every night. I wish we had more like him to be honest.

Remember....we and our defense sucks....therefore

Regehr/Leopold - 3rd/4th round picks at best - true rentals
Sekera - we probably will keep here for rest of the year and figure out what to do with him in the off-season

Stafford - with multiple years left on contract - do not see how we can trade him....I would say if it was not for Leino that he would be an amnesty decesion....best case is an off-season trade with him - we have to pray he has a good second half to salvage any value....
