Jones is a beast. Drouin seems to look quicker than he is fast but he's got pretty sick hands. This Barkov kid seems to be a pure shooter/goal scorer but he's a Euro...

If this team ever pulled off Jones and one of either Drouin, Mackinnon or Barkov they could be set for over a decade.

Can I play too?
Our team has TWO fundamental flaws...
1) almost all our defensemen are offensively oriented "puck movers"
-that's great when you're on the attack, but...
2) we can't win faceoffs for poop... Which means the other team is on the attack more... We spend more time in our end with defensemen who's strengths are skating and passing... Not being physical and recovering the puck by winning battles with bigger forwards...
No coach can change that, it's just the way we are built
Say what u want about Roy, but he was pretty decent at faceoffs and Goose was phenomenal...
Only guy we have now that's any good is Ott, and he can't take them all...
We need at least 1-2 defensively minded physical defensemen...
That'll help us get the puck out quicker,
And help our scoring by getting us on the attack more
And another good faceoff guy will help wonders too...

So with that in mind...
1) trade with Detroit for Abdelkader or Helm
Solid 3rd line centers that can win faceoffs, play with some grit, and provide a little scoring too
Also, allows Grigorenko to move to the wing where he doesn't have as much to worry about defensively and can focus more on his great offensive skills
2) trade for a "defensive" defenseman that clear the net & win board battles for the puck
3) get freaking McNabb up here! It's ridiculous to me with how weak our defense is that he's stuck down there bc of a "numbers game"

Trade the rest our our defensemen for teams desperate for help to maximize their value
