Serious question:
Is it Miller the team doesn't want to play for?
Just trying to figure out what the issue is? Pommer isn't that true captain, we all know that. But Ott not having a letter on his chest and Stafford does, speaks volumes to me. |

Today would work, just move on Terry.
Darcy is nothing more than a YES Man for every owner he has worked for here in Buffalo.
Lets get a GM with some cherries and will continue to upgrade this club and not be afraid. - Irish 14
I would be 100% shocked if Ted Black hasn't already contacted Brian Burke, or looked into the availability of Don Luce or Rick Dudley. I think it is only a matter of time. |

The Sabres just need to take the best available player with their top pick this year. I have no problem taking Seth Jones if you think he can be a franchise-type D-man. Those guys don't exactly grow on trees, and nearly every Stanley Cup champ I can think of had one.
I also wouldn't let the fact that some people feel that the organization is deep with d-men affect the decision. Teams tend to get into trouble when they draft for need.
But really - does anyone watch this defense and think, "They clearly do not need anymore help"? - SabreSufferer
Knowing our luck, will tank enough to end up with the 4th pick, But if we are lucky enough to end up in the top 3, my order of priority would be:
Jones
Droiun
MacKinnon
Jones has the look of a franchise kid. Ive read comparables to Shea Weber, just a bit less mean but with more skill. And this D needs both of those qualities right now. but I like Droiun as well. His chemistry with Girgorenko could be very special |

Having Rolston here is going to be good for Grigs. If anything good can come out of this terrible season, it's having a guy behind the bench now that's great at developing players and teaching them the game.
BTW, Girgensons has been playing wing all season in the A, if that helps. - HonkFortheGoose

I can honestly say Black stays out of the hockey dept stuff, Terry runs the show. |

With there being a possible chance we will lose Vanek and or Pominville after next season I really cant see us passing on Drouin/Mackinnon/Barkov if they are there to take. - Smittyx36
if Vanek goes we have a new " vanek " in joel armia
but they do need to find a coach that will keep him in line or he will just be Lazy |

No deals will be done until Terry figures out if he is retaining Darcy in a General Manager capacity.
I have said this earlier.
With the trade deadline drawing ever closer the window for keeping Darcy is either going to close or remain open.
By weeks end the calendar turns to March.
By weeks end I think we will know if Darcy is being retained merely by the moves he makes or doesn't make.
You don't allow someone to move cornerstone pieces of your franchise that you have no intent on retaining as your General Manager.
We will know soon. Like I said a day before Lindy was fired.
Be patient. |

I doubt it. I think that most NHL players are way too competitive to allow personal animosity (if it even exists) affect their effort. These guys just are not very good. Aside from the first line, most of these guys are healthy scratches on a top team.
Ott will end up with at least an "A" pretty soon. |

Armia needs to find ways to stay interested in the games. If things aren't happening for him, he loses interest really quick. |

Sure. My point is that someone up higher (maybe Sawyer) probably already has a replacement for Darcy in mind. |

That's what he was brought in to do. He's just never mentioned. I would think that the decisions come from Terry, but I would bet that they're discussed with Sawyer first. That's why he's here.
But, you're right. And I'm not.
On that note, I have stuff I need to accomplish today. I'm out. |

I wanna believe that but he has yet to play at the NHL level and he was passed on by 15 other teams. And with the chance at a franchise guy like stamkos is to tampa, crosby to pits, toews to chi, tavares to nyi, etc, you cant pass on the forwards.
Obviously that's my opinion and I'm sticking with it lol. Only way this changes is if we manage to get some franchise forward via trade. |
