They win because they draft superstars in the 6th and 7th rounds. Plus they know how to groom their draft picks, not destroy them like this "Organization" - sbroads24
Agreed... Every "potential" star the Sabres have drafted, they stick them in the AHL to never appear again. Used to be that the Sabres number 1 picks were always on the NHL roster.... Darcy will not allow this..... And now Grigorenko gets lost on the 3rd or 4th line to fade away and he will never reach his potential in Buffalo... |

SABRES HAVE NOT HAD A TOP FIVE DRAFT PICK IN FOREVER.
Would Darcy have (frank)ed it up anyways? Maybe. But there isn't a gm in the league that wasn't taking Crosby when he went, or malkin, or sedan, or Kane, etc etc etc
I'm done. I'm tired of writing the same thing over and over for it to be ignored. - Putzfrau
Pretty sure rapperray is just trolling everyone. He's just going against about every single positive point that people try to make. I'd advise to just ignore him. |

Wings have bumpy years ahead. They won't be good for a few years, the loss of lindstrom is obvious and there depth is nothing impressive. - Putzfrau
Just in time to join the division. |

Never count the Wings out. They make sure their young guys are role players for years and then when they are ready they make an impact. Franzen, Flipulla, Kronwall, all of them were mid-twenties before they became impact players |

I said that while his trades aren't "bad"
they don't make an impact
Hodgson and Ott (2 players that I really like) have made little difference to the overall team. No impact - ZamboniMassacre
What player s do you think he could of got ? I mean really its Buffalo not exactly the chosen destination for most super stars. |

False - PassionBucket16
Oh right Ville Leino or an other overpaid talentless (frank).
Let me rephrase. No one worth a (frank) wants to play here ever. We'll never be good. |

Name one "potential" star the Sabres have buried in the AHL. |

They'll never be the blue jackets but the next few years won't be paved with gold like the last decade and a half was |

I respect the Wings, but they had a magic rabbit foot jammed up their asses building that last group (along with a jump start scouting Europe).
They have great players still, but they are on the right side of the bell curve, their prospect pool is thin, and I can't imagine they have another zetterberg waiting in the 5th round. |

1) Trade for O'Reilly.
2) Trade for picks
3) Do nothing. Tank out the rest of this season and start the rebuild at the draft. |

Yeah probably because they have these two guys named Zetterberg and Datsyuk. You may have heard of them... |
