Yeah, some of the American announcers are actually great and very non-biased. - Nucker101

that's is horrible to get out played for 2 periods against a team that played last night and played with 5 defensemen for almost 2 periods. Boy when the Preds lose in regulation they go out with a bang. Hasn't every regulation loss except 1 been a shutout loss?

How many combined(both teams) scoring chances in that game? Can't be more than 5. |

Problem was Nashville spent too much time chasing the puck in the 2nd and 3rd. They finally turned the switch back on with about 5 minutes left to go. They have a bad history of doing that |

Yeah, I thought they outplayed the Canucks in the first and then the Canucks controlled the play for basically the rest of the game until Weise scored. For awhile there it looked like it would be a 0-0 game going into a shootout. |

That was a dreadful hockey game. Props to Nashville fans for selling out constantly while watching that brand of hockey.

Fortunately, not many of our games are that boring and bad. My wife went to the game and took a friend who has been to few games. (Generally speaking, she's not a sports fan.) Anyway, her friend was even commenting how boring and dead the game was.

What is the cure for the Preds?
It is fine to embrace our defensive strength, to a point. At some point, we need to talk about the 300 Lb. elephant issue that is our front lines.
We are 8 wins and 10 losses. |

It's simple, I think: finish chances, no matter how few of them there are.
Easier said than done even for the best out there (ok, not counting the Pavels of the league), but Preds just need to keep practicing, working and pushing for laser outcomes. We didn't have many chances last night but finishing just one would have been huge, obviously.
Both goalies were solid but Rinne did his job better than Luongo imo. We just missed opportunities.
Even though boring, the quality of the defensive work from both teams was quite good. |
