This isn't rocket science. TT allows them to make moves at the trade Deadline without worrying about cap issues. DP counts against the cap whether he is on the team or in the AHL (Redden rule). He stinks and sending him to B-port allows them to play Poulin, and Nillson when Nabby has a terrible game (see Flyers 7- Isles 0). |

Seriously, though, the Thomas thing is in case they decide to ditch BOTH Streit and Visnovsky at the deadline. Had nothing to do with DiPietro in the first place. All I can say is....there apparently is a God. Poulin will be an improvement, for sure. |

What team would WILLFULLY choose to have about $9 million in dead cap space tied up in goalies who won't be playing for them? Waiving DiPietro negates any benefit of not having to actually pay Thomas. - Eklund
You seem to be missing the point, Ek:
He is 0-3, with a GAA of 4.09 and a SV% of .855.
He's on waivers because he sucks. |

The last goal he allowed against Ottawa was the the straw that broke the camel's back. It lost the game for them and was directly attributable to his poor play.
Question for you Ek, if another team picks him up is the amnesty rule still a possibility down the road? |

Leafs already submitted a claim.

Paleeezzz. Pittsburgh doesn't look like a rose patch with their goal tending either. |

The is the best news isles fans have gotten since they drafted Tavares. You don't know the torture the last few years. It's been awful the guy can barely stand up. Thank god. Almost nothing can ruin this news - Isles316

I think he means if an ECHL or an over 30 pick-up league team picks him up... |

He had 1 full season after signing that deal. Then averaged around 10 games/season every years since, and that's only because he played 26 games one of those years.

Not saying someone will pick up his contract, just a technical question. |

Ek- Remember when this used to be a rumor site? Those were the days. If you are too concussed to put out any real content/rumors then please hand the reins over to someone a little more lucid. - MFC
