If Nashville could ever sort out it's ownership situation so that they have the ability to spend to the cap, they'd get the players to change the style of play. It's hard when you don't know if your minority partners are going to pull out at any minute to want to spend on firepower. The Weber deal is probably going to kill the franchise, mark my words, he'll never be able to live up to it unless he becomes the second coming of Lidstrom or Orr and even then it'll still be a franchise killer. If Luongo's contract is untradeable due to the length... Weber's got to be even more so.

I know why they brought Radulov back (offense) I just thought it was a bad move for the team chemistry. Everyone who has played there does rave about the city, and the fans always seem stoked during playoffs, seems like a good atmosphere. If they could spend to the cap they would be a scary team.

Would you have traded Weber to PHI when they offersheeted him?
If so, what would you have wanted back (draft picks or players)

Wasn't this brought up before and it is because they have stats on people who played for them before?

Been waiting for someone to make comment on last nights game re Burrow's sell on the Morrow penalty. I guess its just me that goes crazy when he does that Hard to defend when trolls comment on it.

Burrows was obviously dived forcing Morrow to do that somehow.

Probably, but it would likely be a bigger deal than just Weber straight up to balance for cap. Starting point would be Weber for Couturier+

Didn't think it was a dive, honestly.

Kesler is the only one that dives anymore.

But Robidas severely dove on the Burrows cross checking penalty, and got away with it.

Not saying he wouldn't be a fit in NYI, just not sure who they would offer up. I think the proposal for Nino and a 2nd was BS. I would love something like Bailey and Hamonic.

I never thought of it as a dive either .More of a spin-o-ramo then looking at ref.
I get that other players dive and such but what drives me nuts is that the league ,whether it be commentaries or the fans, always think of us canucks when the word diving or faking comes up.

I'm gonna laugh if it's "Hockey Insider" that's behind this one again. This trade is not happening right now.

By the way lefty, thanks for dropping JJ.

Landeskog back tomorrow for the Avs, it's too bad they lost Downie and O'Reilly is being a jackass otherwise they would be loaded up front.

It's just the reputation from a few years ago that has stuck, and even then it was exaggerated because the Canucks were good and have some chippy players, so people love to hate.

Let em hate...

Yeah, honestly the Canucks don't dive any more than other teams at this point, it's just the microscope, the reputation and the perception. A couple of years ago it was probably true, but they've toned it down big time as a group IMO.

Did you? I'm not sure how the Yahoo system works(first time setting up a league), I think that once you put in a claim you move to the back of the line and I haven't put one in awhile so I was pretty high on this list.

because it's the Canucks. Whatever it takes to spin the argument in their favour works for them. Just ignore the trolls.
- LeftCoaster

Same can be said for every team facing the haters. It's much easier to find fault. especially the fans of lesser teams in relation to the canucks...

15 games into said career ive heard the oilers are dumb and shoulda picked galchenyuk or murray over nail.
Same last year about landeskog over rnh (even when we had no #1 centre, and rnh had more pts in 20 less games)
Same the year before with seguin over hall.( even tho hall is one of the only physical, reckless style players we have in our top 6. and has a better ppg on a much worse team)

All those players are good, and any woulda helped, but it's so much easier to hate. Itd be the other way around if we went in another direction.

"u passed on rnh??! And didnt pick yakupov??!!" Idiots

Damned if u do, damned if ya dont
