Huge difference, Beach was a known headcase, Bailey was always known as a solid citizen. However you are right about potential, and potential and a buck thirty only buys me a small Timmys.

That said, this is the type of move that I think the Hawks need to make. Going after a guy not living up to his expectations who can be had for a small price tag as opposed to a known quantity who will cost players the Hawks may not be able to afford. Again, that was how Tallon snagged Ladd who was a guy who no one thought was anything more then potential.

Baily only makes $1.05 million, he's an RFA and I can't see him warranting much of a raise. He would be a project and I think he would be affordable, however who's ice time would he take?

If we could re-sign all three guys for $2.0 - $2.5 per season that would be a win. I would guess Leddy would get the most, then Stalberg then Kruger.

Butt phucking ugly. Almost as bad as the White Sox all black or the Cubs all Blue. I hate black, it's the most over used uniform color. Too many teams, when they decide to make a uniorm tweak, just add black. The 49ers, Lions, Mets, all come to mind off the top of my head (there are mny more) as teams who have added black accents. Then there's the Kings and Penguins who switched from Purple and Blue respectively to black as the featured color. It's been done...over done in fact. At least the winter classic version had some historical context to justify its use. If it's not a retro stye jersey I'd just assume they stick to red and white.

Way to many people; overpriced team stuff; and vendors all trying to sell you crap.. and as mentioned people all trying to get a middle RP autograph as if their life depended on it. Its not like you can have a conversation with any of the players/mngt; you ask your question if it is homer enough they give you an answer; if it si trurthful they will spin it into a homer answer.

Agree with everything here Ogi...except...i love the Chisox black uni's...but damn those must be uncomfortable during day games in July and August.

As the Hawks...nothing better to me than seeing the Chicago Blackhawks come out on Hockey Night in Canada..in any city...and see those TOP PHUCKING NOTCH Red unis under them national lights...COAST TO COAST

Does anybody know if they will ever bring back the all black alternate jersey? I know they have been using the old style ones similar to what they wore at the winter classic but I still say my favorite hockey jersey is the all black alternate the Hawks used to use.

From a graphic design perspective, the brand hallmarks of the Blackhawks are so classic and work so well together. The Indianhead, the Tomahawks, the colors, the stripes. Red, white or black, they look freaking awesome . . . especially red and black.

I get what Ogie's saying as far as black being an overused color. I agree with you on the hallmarks though, all of those are augmented by the jersey colors to make some of the best jerseys in hockey, if not all of sports.
