Good morning everyone
Just got done watching the morning skate. Hossa, Seabs, and Carcillo all back tonight...it's a beautiful day to be a Hawk fan. - Ogilthorpe2

Not a fan either; might have been a nice guy but just seemed like he really didn't belong in the booth.
Since Pat's been back, the chemistry between him and Edzo just seems kind of forced compared to when it was Pat and Dale. Several here have commented how the game goes on for minutes while Pat and Eddy yuck it up. Though I see perfectly fine, it's just nice to listen to the radio guys who are actually calling play by play and give better analysis. - HawkintheD
I understood why they gave Kelly the job. Son of the great Dan Kelly, Canadian broadcaster extraordinaire. The other son works with Darren Pang for the Blues to create one of the more annoying broadcasting crews in the NHL today.
Pat and Eddy love to crack themselves up with lame jokes. Olcyzk seems a bit more engaged as color guy with Pat as opposed to doing the national broadcasts with Pierre and Emrick, and I prefer him over Konroyd the clown, but not by much. I'm edging ever closer to putting the volume on mute and dealing with the delay from the radio play-by-play. |

Just a slight heads up Mr Jaeckel. In your line up assessment of the Sharks it's slightly off.
JOE THORNTON JOE PAVELSKI PATRICK MARLEAU
RYANE CLOWE LOGAN COUTURE MARTIN HAVLAT
TIM KENNEDY MICHAL HANDZUS TOMMY WINGELS
MATT PELECH ANDREW DESJARDINS ADAM BURISH
No big deal or anything, but we sent Pelech back to the minors. If they are healthy it will more likely be Gomez or Sheppard. Havlat has been playing on the "4th line" a bit, and Clowe with the first line....that being said, anything can change before game time....so my points may be useless anyway.

Used to do that for Bears games to listen to Laravee do play by play. |

Now the question becomes what are the line combos? I would guess that Carcillo would start on the 4th line and ease himself back into the lineup. - DarthKane
I'd just love the see the Car Bomb, when/if the game is safely in hand, detonate Thornton's mug.

Re: Islander buyout/waiver of DiPietro
Likely has absolutely nothing to do with the Hawks, but I was told this AM the teams have talked of late - John Jaeckel
Would hope either Okposo or Martin were the topic of conversation from the Isles. |

No thanks. Guy has no drive this season, routinely have seen Isles fans complaining that he should not have an "A" on his chest.
Guys on the Islanders I like are Martin and Bailey. Would obviously love Tavares as a pipe-dream 2c sniper who wins faceoffs or Moulson, but that would likely never happen. |

Esplen's blog asks the question this morning if the Canucks have the best offensive defensemen in the league.
I think the actual answer is, proven by the game the other night, they have the most over-committed,out of position defensemen leading to breakways for the other team in the league. - John Jaeckel
The best passing defense in the NHL is the Blackhawks. |

It worked with Stalberg and finally, Kane.

He adds to a strength. We would then have 3- third line centers. Don't see him as a #2C |

Yeah I suppose I see how that could work, but I don't like his back-loaded contract salary-wise. Makes 4.5 million in the last year of his deal. Cap hit is alright I guess. Where were you supposing he would slot in the roster? |

I think he's been ruined by the Islanders organization.
Okposo and Matt Martin would be on the top of my list to pick from the Islanders. I'm sure we'd have to send some salary back so the Islanders reach the cap floor, but we could also add a decent prospect or two. |

Does anybody know if they will ever bring back the all black alternate jersey? I know they have been using the old style ones similar to what they wore at the winter classic but I still say my favorite hockey jersey is the all black alternate the Hawks used to use.

God I miss those jerseys.... |

But his cap hit is only $2.8 million, which isn't bad. But if we got Okposo that would certainly mean Stalberg wouldn't return next season. Would you rather have Okposo at $2.8 million or re-sign Stalberg at his asking price. |

Not sure if he can play LW, but especially if Stalberg leaves via UFA/trade, maybe a 3rd line with Shaw and Kruger would be a pretty nice "second" 2nd line IMO |

They haven't technically had a 3rd jersey since 2010-11. You'd have to think they are coming up with something to fill the vacant 3rd jersey slot in 13-14. Loved those black jerseys as well, had a black Amonte at one point. That one's long lost though |
