Now you did it. I can sense movement beneath the bridges now...

Nah, they won last night so the tampons aren't full this morning

Really hoping Danny plays tonight.

Me too and if he plays...let him ride shotgun alongside Tazer just in case Thornton gets stupid.

The Canuck fans are sleeping off the Cup win last night in Dallas.

Ideally I'd like to see a 3-goal 3rd period lead and just let Bollig drop him like the sack of $hit that he is.

Either Campbell is back, or they brought back Jeff Hamilton

Oh, man! I forgot about Jeff Hamilton. 2006 seems like such a long time ago.

Sadly he was the first player I thought of when I saw #51. Forgot Soupy...

Even though the Hawks go for History tonight, I think sitting Hossa might be smart. We all witnessed Jumbo Joe trying to knock Toews around knowingly when he was recovering from a concussion.

Hossa will of course want to play tonight he's an extremely competitive guy. We'll see what happens.

Here's my latest... still think the Blackhawks need that 2nd line C?

That was my f(u)cking arthritis again. I wasn't hoping Soupy was back and even if he was, he wouldn't be the guy to drop that sack-of-$hit Joe Thornton.

'06...Such a magical year. Jeff Hamilton setting up Dennis Arkhipov. I looked back at the roster that year. One of the big signings was an almost empty tanked 38 year old Petr Bondra who recorded his 500th goal (one of five that season) and the hype machine then was focused on Finnish Flash Tony Salmelainen (Finnish for Ken Yaremchuk).

Things are always darkest before the dawn;helped us get Toews and Kane so in that respect I'm eternally grateful to that team.

I remember Havlat was fun to watch that year anyway.

I was at the UC for Bondra's 500th! It was cool to witness, but a little anti-climactic. I think the only thing I miss from that era is when the players who weren't suiting up would sign autographs before preseason games. It would have been nice to augment my puck collection with some of the current roster to balance out the Martin LaPointes and Jim Vandermeers of the day.

"Unless he's out for a while, and Carcillo is still a ways off, they probably won't bring anyone up. "

Went back and read it. The "he's" refers to Hossa, so because of how you use commas it makes it seem like the "and Carcillo is still a ways off" is a statement.

So some miscommunication. Not a big deal, we don't need to get snippy this early in the morning and I certainly don't need to be validating my statement like an English teacher. Much rather focus on the hockey.

- HawkFan27

Ya, ok, I wasn't playing gotcha (was I?), just making the intent of the sentence clear.

Esplen's blog asks the question this morning if the Canucks have the best offensive defensemen in the league.

I think the actual answer is, proven by the game the other night, they have the most over-committed,out of position defensemen leading to breakways for the other team in the league.

That's cool; went to several games that year when I lived in East Village slightly more than a mile from the UC. I could walk up close to game time and get $10 seats and sit just about anywhere I wanted in the Upper Bowl. As much as I enjoyed that it's immeasurably better to watch the product today.

I'll get to check them out twice in March at the Joe.

I still regularly have nightmares from the dark days. Very few players I even slightly enjoyed watching or even liked. The Russians were some of the worst. That being said, there's a nice number of players that went through the Hawks roster like a turnstile and are still NHL-level players today.

Too bad the Hawks couldn't convert on one of those that night; wild first period! Hope they keep playing that way; their goalies won't be able to bail them out every night.

There won't be any buyouts before the summer, so it would be nice to see Montador and Olesz get some game action if they're healthy. Monty could be especially useful as a 6th d-man, you can't have too many good defensemen.

Likely has absolutely nothing to do with the Hawks, but I was told this AM the teams have talked of late
