Funny how a little spelling keeps you out of the penalty box... And I always like to be so punctual!!!!

Would have been a gag but for the fact the Isles were an ascendant DYNASTY that would go on to win the Cup 4 times in a row. No shame in losing to them.
- philco28

It can be viewed that way I suppose, but the flyers did finish 25 points better than the Isles that season. Perhaps gag is too strong an adjective though.

I recall the Hawks that year, won their division despite being mediocre. I had forgotten how great some of those east coast clubs were...Isles, Flyers, Montreal, the Sabres were still a force too.

Long live Tom Lysiak!

Isn't always that way....I have commented on this over and over. From the players to the owners, the NHL is a real mess on this. Silence is golden when our/my guy is the offender but let there be hell to play if one of ours is the offended one. It is once again happening around the league every day. There is a real credibility problem out there and there is no standard of conduct.

Check out Hitchcock's comments about the Tarsenko head hit. How about Hall on Cluterback. Silence from the Oilers but the Wild filled up the blogs todays. Karlsson/Cooke, Hansen/Hossa, Lucic/Nash and how about the little cheap shot artist Tootoo jumping Dorsett?

Must admit Foley and Olczyk called it a bad hit - emphasized it - right from when it happened.

I jave no problem with the Shaw hit on Pavelski.

How many times have the Sharks used Toews as a punching bag ?

I know... Hockey meatballs unite....

Clowe should be suspended for sure for coming off the bench.

Not to be a spelling nazi, but while you are at it could you add an E also.

Not condoning the hit but that is an example of Shaw taking matters into his own hands after he was boarded behind the Sharks net earlier in that shift. Officials really need some more consistency on those calls as they are hella dangerous hits.

Isn't the suspension for coming off the bench ten games for the player and five games for the coach?

You know, my first thought was this WAS more recent payback, maybe for the clean Kane double crunch OR maybe an answer if Bolland's injury came from some junk...I already am half-way through the second period trying to isolate Bolland to try and see if there is any visual that might be a clue to bolland going down.

But, you know what?

This kid Shaw is just what this team needed, in that he takes hits w/o retaliation for a good part of the games (just look at him...he looks like pounded and cut hamburger in the face, so that means the rest of the carcuss have their share too), but isn't afarid of anyone, and catchs guys clean and not if he can.

So...this kid is everything you wanted in the BIG slug of a centre ANY POSSIBLE trade could got you that wouldn't cost you some real players and prospects and picks...except compact.

and I tend to agree...on one play (which I will edit in later after the replay), the Sharks were going to be called on a dirty hit but before the whistle blew due to Hawk possession, I watched another Shark elbow a Hawk to the head, probably feeling it was going to be a "free shot" since on penalty was called already, and it was not a major bell ring.

So I think I agree...if Clowe took some payback, for the three game history, and Shaw let emotion lull hi into a strategic end of the game ambush, F the dirty Sharks....

I thought all errors in spelling , grammar, and syntax are excused on this board?

A bad hit is a bad hit - a dangerous hit is a dangerous hit b

If you want this shiit to stop - and a lt of the injuries to stop - you don't excuse it just because it's your own guy or you think there is some kind of retaliation involved.

Suspension warranted for both (if Clowe came off the bench to fight).

New blog up.

I'll let most of them pass. That wasn't written by one of us. I would like to talk to that kid's teacher.

Let the Canucks' faithful have their President's Trophy. I don't give a rip about it, and I don't think anyone else here does either.

He was not just boarded but grabbed around neck and wrestled to the ice...a clear penalty.
