For the first time this year, the Hawks out hit an opponent...."official numbers" were 29-27 in favor of the Hawks.

Scorer must be sharing a few with Foley!

- bogiedoc

Carcillo setting a tone...rubbing off on Kaner! But Pat and Eddie too busy gargling Stans man juice to comment!

Love the fact that Carcillo can play 4th line ot top line. Saad, Kane, Shaw was an interesting look.

Shaw hit a bit iffy...but Clowe came off the bench = suspension??

Just ask'n??

- bogiedoc

It was a bad hit--he deserved the penalty, but listening to the Sharks announcers, you'd think it was Lemieux on Draper again. Just a little over the top by the announcers on that one...

CSN says he got hurt late in second period.

That explains the line blender...

It's an upper-body injury for #Blackhawks center Dave Bolland

- Beaver-Warrior

Hopefully it's relatively minor and between the shoulders and waist

You don't need to tell me......I've been as critical as anyone. Stalberg has played well...and there is no reason to change the lines now.
- UnnamedSource

Stalberg gets props in my book for going to the net & setting screens. He may not be that good at screening yet, but he's working at it and doing some dirty work there and along the boards

No question... rolling these line, But they have been playing together for a month straight now and everyone is feeding off each other. Now is the time I think you can mix and match if someone goes down, like Bolland tonight!!! And Katheryn Tappen is to much..

About the only reason to watch the NESN broadcasts of the B's on gamecenter a couple years ago was KT during intermissions!!! Beyond glad she is on NHL network every night now

Keith on Saad: "We call him man child. He's 20 years old in a 40-year-old man's body-hairy, big, strong - a grown man already. #blackhawks

Mark Lazerus ‏@MarkLazerus
Emery on the #Blackhawks PK: "Krugs and Fro are just on fire out there. A lot of it's just battle. They just outwork guys out there."

Tim Sassone ‏@TimSassone
Emery on streak: "The start of the year is the worst time to do it. You'd rather do it at the end, but it's great." #blackhawks

I agree, Stalberg is 100% better along the boards this year. Still makes some boneheaded passes but his improvement has done a ton to improve this team

Isn't always that way....I have commented on this over and over. From the players to the owners, the NHL is a real mess on this. Silence is golden when our/my guy is the offender but let there be hell to play if one of ours is the offended one. It is once again happening around the league every day. There is a real credibility problem out there and there is no standard of conduct.

Check out Hitchcock's comments about the Tarsenko head hit. How about Hall on Cluterback. Silence from the Oilers but the Wild filled up the blogs todays. Karlsson/Cooke, Hansen/Hossa, Lucic/Nash and how about the little cheap shot artist Tootoo jumping Dorsett?

Just as Krugman and Frolik have stepped up their games, Stalberg has as well. I tend to think if 25 was playing with Hossa and Toews that line would be way more productive. Maybe at some point this season we will see that...

I think they keep Stals down in the lines to keep his numbers down, not that he would light it up on the first line. We have seen him on the first line. But there is money on the line (contracts). Don't showcase him, same with Leddy and Kruger, but you need that kind of depth to win, consistently!!

Q has always been a proponent of having balance on the lines.....and as much as people commend him this year of doing less tinkering those same people forget he rides the line up when they are playing good and makes very little changes. It is when the team is in a funk or on a losing streak when he makes them. Unfortunately over the past couple of years that was often the situation. He will make changes but as of right now I don't think he will nor do I think he should make any ......this is definitely one you ride out and sit back as a coach and enjoy what you're watching.

Every game dictated what you will do.. Tonight nothing was happening, even though we were always rolling. Switch it up, bam in the net.. I'm not saying change the lines, but the game dictates what you do!!!

Absolutely....but he will go back to those original lines on Sunday. It also was a good test to see how they respond to mix and match in the middle of a game.

I looked up the 79-80 Flyers. Most points in the league, lost in the finals to Islanders.

Started season 1-1-0

by their next lose in January they were...

26-1-10

finished the season...

48-12-20 (80 game season) 116 points.

Except for the finals gag, it was an epic season.

Would have been a gag but for the fact the Isles were an ascendant DYNASTY that would go on to win the Cup 4 times in a row. No shame in losing to them.
