after watching the Panther broadcasters mock the Flyers I realized that this organization is never going to win anything with Holmgren as GM. He made 2 good trades getting Timonen, Hartnell and Coburn, trades JVR for a turnover machine, trades his 2 best players for promise and signs a wacky goalie for 9 years. Homer's drafting strategy is questionable? He could have drafted Carlson, Markstrom and Hamilton. I think Bozo the clown could do a better job.

Look I agree some moves by Homer are questionable expecially last off season, letting Carle walk and personally would have made the offer to Weber while Suter still was potentially available for Nashville. You are completley off base with the Richards and Carter deal. We scored huge! For Richards(10 points this year), we recieved Simmonds (13 points), Schenn (14 points) and draft pick. For Carter (10 points) we recieved Vorachek (19 points) and Couturier (7 points). Flyers need Defence, they need a guy like Chris Pronger who could not only move the puck but was a leader on defence. A guy like Pronger isn't easily replaced but losing Carle increased the damage to the Defence.

His shift against the pens was just as large and important as Richards shift against the Habs.

Richards was also the Captain for 3 years vs the half of year that Giroux has had...

I would do both of those trades again in a second..They gained more youth, talent, potential and output then they would have by keeping them.

Not sure i'd say a first round shift from Giroux was as important as ECF shift from Richards.. Whats done is done, but IMO I wouldnt do the Richards trade and I would have kept Bobrovsky to use cap $ elsewhere but thats a whole different topic. I dont think theres anyone disputing the Carter deal

Let's wait a few years once players develope more and they get their raises.. At some point someone else has gotta go
