Good on Burke for moving on. The team that has played so well so far this season is one he constructed and has promise going forward. It's very possible his tenure will be vindicated in hindsight.

Wasn't his goal and job to win a Stanley Cup? A low seed playoff team doesn't vindicate Burke. He was suppose to be able to do much, much more than that.

Nobody doubted Connolly's skills.

His effort was lacking.

It's actually not such a bad situation to have - he can clearly play in the NHL, he's (hopefully) received the message and has turned around his surly attitiude, and now the Leafs can bring him back up whenever they want, without fear of waivers.
