What was the plan? "Fight more"? - Pecafan Fan
Drop weight. Eakins felt Orr was too big to be an effective player at the NHL level. So they decided he needed to shed weight, and build core strength, rather than just be a big puncher.
He's a lot faster than he used to be, and is actually being used on an offensive line right now, in the wake of the injuries. Obviously he's not putting up points, but he's making lots of room for Kadri out there, and doesn't look out of place at all. |

There was a really good piece (can't remember who did it) earlier in the year about Orr going down to the Marlies, and Eakins sitting down with him and explaining how he was going to have to change his game if he wanted to make it back to the NHL.
Give credit to Orr, but also give credit to Eakins: he laid out a plan, and helped him work through it. - Atomic Wedgie
Dallas Eakins and Randy Carlyle need to be co-HC of the Leafs.
Let's be innovative guyzzz. |

I don't know if he still does it, but he used to write negative stories about a player on the opposition just before that team came to Ottawa.
C'mon, Bruce - you don't play for the Senators. It's not your job to get a player on the other team off his game. |

The scary thing about the comparison of Hamilton to Myers, is that they're actually similar type of players. Tall, lanky, pretty good with the puck, but can be suspect defensively at the NHL due to their appearance being similar to a baby giraffe on skates... - p_zub

The one thing that really stands out about Orr this year and Komarov so far is the amount of turnovers and panic they create with their for-check.
They go in hard and actually end up giving their linemates some great opportunities because of it. |

You know, back to Dougie Hamilton... I don't put much into +/- stats, but given the amount of points he's put up, and Boston being a pretty defensively sound team... it's odd that he's a - player, no?

Question for all of you: Should I pick up Markstrom as my goalie tonight vs. Pittsburgh or just leave the slot open?
0.2 points for saves. -1 for goals against in my league.
5 points for a win, but no penalty for losses.
To break even, and assuming he faces 30-35 shots, he'd need to allow about 4 or fewer goals. Will he?
I got burned for -0.4 last night by taking Nilstorp at the last minute. |

That's your opinion, I prefer the Sun and think it's better than the Star but that's also because I fully know how righty it is going in. If you can get past all the bias and drivel (large chunk of it), it's not entirely bad. |

That is interesting. Can't say more on it though, I haven't watched many Bruins games, because I'm not sure they actually play in the NHL. |

My fantasy league has the dumbest goalie stats ever.
shots against count as a point... as do goals against
Theodore is actually a good pick-up in my league. |
