I don't think anyone would be upset if Getz was signed and if he got 6 mil. I just don't think it will be that easy. I think Anahiem will keep him and to get him will take more than many teams are willing to give. Perry is more of a target but again I don't think the Ducks would get rid of him for anything less than our 4 young guys.
As for Nail, the guy is 19 and they have him playing a checking role. He is actually really good if you watch him and he will be amazing. I don't think anyone is thinking about trading him at this point. Our coach is new and needs to move Nail back to the second line and we are gold.
Our second line center is one of the few players hitting, he leads the team in scoring and is one of two centers that can win a face off. We wouldn't get fair market value for him and he is only 22. He could be amazing. What we need to do is put a big winger on the line like we have with our first line. Hall is one of our consistent hitters even though our center doesn't (Nuge is playing hurt though).
As for budget, with the exception of Justin our d is worse than Toronto's. If our D gets to a point that they are so great that we can't afford them, I would be extremely happy. But if you look at Chicago and what they pay their D and still 4 expensive forwards, I think we will be fine. - bsteinley
Just want to point out that our d is pretty good this year. It helps when they have an actual system to play with Carlyle. I always wondered why our d sucked in years past when they are actually alright individual dmen but other teams have a bunch of no names yet play way better D. Stupid Wilson! |

way to try and skew numbers to make players look bad... he is doing better than Nuge though
Kassian 8 points, Hall 16 points - SpoiledByOil
He's been doing essentially as well as Nuge. Neither has done anything this month. Nuge because the team scoring has dried up, and Kass because he got moved off the Sedins line.
First 7 games
Kassian - 5g 0a 5 points, +1
Nugent-Hopkins - 0g 5a, +2
Last 8 games
Kassian - 0g 2a, -1
Nugent-Hopkins (7 games) - 1g, 2a, -3 |

As soon as Kesler came back the entire teams chemistry was shot down It'd be nice if Gillis could find someone that can actually play with him. Honestly Sundin and Burrows are the only two players that's had chemistry with him. Sad. - Boinker
And who was the one that said as soon as Kes was back it would do bad things to the team...hmmmm...And all the Nucktard fans bashed me because of it....

That's a lot for Stewart and next to nothing for all the rest. I'm confused as to where you were trying to go with this post... - muffin_man
Next to nothing for O'Reilly? Gagner and Smid isn't enough?
shake your grey matter. And on the matter I can't believe this O'Reilly BS - take the 3.75 for 2/3 years and prove your worth five.
What a joke. |

Sad when Subban who has questionable character does the right thing, but RoR who is suppose to be chalk full of it, doesn't get it. |

Honestly I can't believe he's even that close to 5 million. Sam Gagner's on pace to have a career year while still improving in other aspects of his game and hell if he deserves 5 million at season's end. |

Ya imagine how a guy like Duchesne feels or the team for that matter....well, who knows, maybe they really stand behind him every step of the way - "fight for every penny, Ryan, we'll be here"
It's seriously strange, makes you think it's his or his agents way of saying "Trade me, that's what I really want"

When we win the cup this year there will be a series of asterisks beside Gagner's legend. |

Makes you wonder if the issue that we heard last year was a clashing between RoR and some of the key players in COL. |

Anaheim has plenty of cap space to resign Perry or Getzlaf, they have close to 30 million next year. - TML93
You are correct about 28m (according to Capgeek),
They also have to sign 7 other players so if you give them minimum 8m per(other teams will be lining up to do so) then you only have 12m for 7 players......Hmmmm.

No.
No team will be giving either of them 8 mill. I could see 6.5 max. |

In terms of (Canadian team's) prospects and the hate they get all the time, I find it really funny that people always say "Gagner was rushed" or "Kadri is a career AHLer" when it seems most evident that few players are able to step right in and be world-beaters.
Gagner's doing fine. Kadri's doing fine, Hodgson's doing fine. In 2-3 years Mark Schiefele and Mika Zibanejad will be doing fine. It's almost as if prospects take 4-5 years to develop into serviceable NHLers, eh? |

Makes me laugh how much people still underrate Gagner's all round game. Guess he's hes just cursed to go through it. Hell, our own fanbase does it regularly. |

If this smoke does equal real fire and he wants a trade why would him and his agent go about this way?
I'm puzzled. maybe the team doesn't mind either in the hopes they raise his value rather then the media hopping on "O'Reilly wants out"
Hey if he gets the 5 million and keeps comin strong all the power to him I suppose....confident guy. |

No need to be humble about Arnie action flicks. He wouldn't want it that way. |
