Toews might be one of my favourite players in the league. Smart like Gagner was touted to be, but with wayy better athletic tools to pull it off and a flair for the dramatic. Kind of like a Hall-Gags-Eberle hybrid - Morris
Speaking of Hall-Gags-Eberle, why don't we try that line out? Maybe give Nuge a bit more shelter to try to get him out of his funk. |

Yeah, now the question of who the sixth person is. I really think we're one player away (and some physical/mental growth) from having a dynamo top 6. Although it should be noted that the person going hardest to the net last game was Hemsky. dude was trying to concuss Quick I think - Morris
I know, when I saw that Hemmer stuff I really felt like all we needed was the physical/ mental/ team/ more experience growth in the top six and we can roll with exactly what we have!!!

I love Gags and want to keep him. I was just doing an experiment using Cloutier's trade targets and his expendables. - Morris
No I quite understand where your coming from, but all year so far it's been ROR for Gags+........lol I just don't understand it thats all. |

Gotta see where hes at sometime. - sanfordnson
He can't be any slower than Smytty or Whitney. And if he is, he goes on waivers right after the game |

That 2nd line is small, but it makes things simple for Nuge: shoot every time you get a pass from Hemsky, pass everytime you want Yaks to shoot. |

What does ROR give you over Gagner?
He is 1" taller, 1lb heavyer and a (frank) of a lot less consistent. - longbottom
Lot better defensively. ROR is probably a better fit on this team, but I don't like situation around him. |

Yeah D is definitely better.
The big thing about most of those guys is getting them now sets up a pretty small window imo. We've done a good job spacing our contracts, and we're not going to be a cup run team next year and probably not the year after that, so creating a Hawks-style payday is shortsighted.
Obviously Clouts wasn't saying 'go and get every player on this list' (for one, he listed like 5 centres). I do think one trade might help, but I feel like preparing to open our wallets this summer might be a better strategy. - Morris
I don't really care about big fish. Just need to feel the easy spots up. |

That it is. But Hordi isn't ready to be in the top 6, even if he is the only size we have. |

I am not sure about you all but I have been impressed with the speed of Hemsky this year... The (frank)er really has jets when he decides he is taking it to the net I would not mind if Eager getting a shot on the top line at least during a practice or more - we really need size in our top 6 and if he continues to play like the game vs LA I think he could possibly complete 1 of the lines... Not sure where or who he would play best with but- might be worth a shot |

Yeah but I'd argue that Gagner actually plays a little more aggressive and physical than Nugent-Hopkins, so swapping them just saps the physical element that much more. Then again, to play devil's advocate against myself, it's not like Gagner is physical by any standard other than when compared to Nuge |

Problem with Eager is when he gets the puck he thinks he is a goal scorer and forgets to play the way he is suppose to. Nothing worse than your tough guy/physical agitator forgets everything and tries to be a sniper. He is however on line 3 tonight |

Love the guy, wanted him when he was struggling and NJ was moving looking to move salary. My problem is I can't justify giving him the long-term deal he'll want at 5+mil |

Nuge is 5th in hits on the team this year. He's actually been laying out some big ones. |

Yeah he might be into some big money. Guy can score and hit. Well, Blake Comeau's kind of like a poopty David Clarkson?
I'd love to have hung on to Curtis Glencross. |
