this is the dumbest (frank)ing argument i have ever read.
- OrangeBlack27

You can think it is all you want and state that. But it is a very reasonble argument. The poster commented on another post made by someone else that was dealing in Bryzgalov's SV% for this Season. And said that he thinks Bryzgalov can get to .915% this Season. Which was called average by the poster. So I replied that since Lunqvist's current SV% is .915%, well then he must be an average goalie. Then he changed it to career stats to try and make it fit. I'm open for you explanation of why it's dumb. I personally think that replying that something is dumb, without explaining why it is. Is pretty dumb.

I just have to say...really? You really don't see why someone would call you on this? Yes, as of right now at this point in the season, Lundqvist has a save % of .915. So if you want to say he's having an average season, that's fine. But one 13-game does not make him "an average goaltender," it makes him a world-class goaltender whole hasn't been his usual self so far. The same is Craig Anderson, whose save % is 0.950. That doesn't mean he's the greatest goalie of all time, it means he's a good goalie who happens to be playing extremely well so far this year. You really can't get that?

You obviously aren't getting the point. The point wasn't trying to say that Lundqvist is an average Goalie. The point is that using SV% blindly to say that Brzgalov if he gets to that SV% for the Season, is an average Goalie. Isn't looking at the complete picture. And taking all the factors into account. With the Flyers team defense, a 915 SV% is pretty dam good.

OMG he makes me want to stab my ears with an ice pick. His voice grates on me. Can't stand the Bruins and Pens broadcasters as well. Love the Rangers

Jeanerette is horrible. I mute him if the Buffalo feed the only one I can get. Homerism in the extreme, but he's not the worst.

Worst by a nose is the Pitt team - both are complete jackasses and total homers.

Next worst is Edwards in Boston. Brickley is decent, but he can't offset the relentless idiocy that Edwards spews.

Jeanerette comes in third on my list, with Joe B. and Craig Laughlin fourth, primarily because Laughlin has THE worst voice of any TV analyst or commentator on the planet.

here ya go, fella. .915 is just about league average these days:
http://www.quanthockey.co.../TS/TS_SavePercentage.php

but you really showed him with the lundqvist stat. a reasonable person would totally look at a 15 game sample and draw conclusions like that.

His exact quote was "Hooray for league average" when in reference to a .915 SV%. He never said that Bryzgalov was average, he said that Bryzgalov's SV%, if at .915, would be a league average. He never said "Any goalie with a .915 SV% in an average goaltender." But yes, I'm sure you're right, and that he thinks Lundqvist is an average at best goaltender. Good work, you got him good!

The only thing crazier than the naked HOFF pics and Ron Duguay in this thread is the Lundqvist/Bryz argument.

Some people would argue grass isn't green.
