rinaldo is friggin relentless
say what you want about him and his penalties but he really does seem to wear down teams throughout the course of a game, physically and mentally.

Is it weird that I can't picture you saying anything without a beer in your hand?

OMG he makes me want to stab my ears with an ice pick. His voice grates on me. Can't stand the Bruins and Pens broadcasters as well. Love the Rangers
- nastyflyergirl

Lmao! I can see that but don't hear that criticism of him too often. He is the hof

I like Kevin Quinn. He does a good job. I don't like it when I think about who's broadcasting the game.

This Is kind of a homer call living in buffalo area but having center ice and listening to a lot of out of town games I gotta say I think Rick jeannerette is gotta be the best. Has great voice, knowledge, and enthusiasm calling games.
- SMS4016

Rick Jeanerette is a Buffalo institution, and is basically a legend there due to his years of service (the Gene Hart of Buffalo).

That said, he's right next to Edwards for me. Extreme homerism (not on the scale of Edwards), and he sounds like he has a mouth full of marbles. The only time he doesn't is when he gets excited; at those times, he sounds like a dying turkey with a mouth full of marbles.

Very nice, classy guy, intensely irritating voice.

that's a common criticism of Mr. Jeanneret and one well earned.

I appreciated Steve Kolbe when I lived in the DC area. He was a good, knowledgeable game caller. He got super excited a la Jeannerett, but noty quite that intense when the Caps would score, but he called a very even non-homer game otherwise. They didn't bring him back at the start of the 2011-2012 season after he did over 1000 games for them. Don't know why he was let go/quit. Steigerwald and Errey of are garbage and I wholly agree with the Jack Edwards bashing.

No update specifically on Read today but McGinn and Sestito skated today in Voorhees, so they're out for tonight (which would suggest Read is in).

When the NHL network did their "voices" series, they covered the NHL radio PxP guys. I loved the way Tim Saunders put it:

"I try to be balanced, but there's going to be times where you know who is signing my check"

Jeanneret is entertaining, but he's absolutely a homer. Edwards is a mean spirited jackass of a homer.

Unless Flyers go with 7 defenseman and put Foster in only for PP?? I can't really see that happening tho.

It will be so nice to see a full healthy team and then see what they can do barring anymore injuries over the next week. I am worried tho they are going to play Bryz out as over has last handful of games has not been as clearly sharp as earlier on.

Agreed. As bad as Jack Edwards is, Steigy and Errey are worse. If I get a game on the Pens feed, I mute the bastard.

I don't need to. I already know that Lundqvist is a better Goalie. My point is simple. You made a comment in reply to a poster saying that he thinks Bryzgalov will get to .915 SV% this Season. You said to paraphrase, "oh goody League average". So with that statement, Lundqvist is an average Goalie.

this is the dumbest (frank)ing argument i have ever read.

i can't stand his voice. i also like my announcers somewhere between him and the guys who call the game on TSN with absolutely zero enthusiasm.
