Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli was in the press box at Consol Energy Center, taking in the Flyers-Penguins contest. It wouldn't be all that unusual, except this is the second time he's personally scouted the Flyers on the road this season. He also attended their Jan. 22 loss to New Jersey. Chiarelli's Bruins are in Tampa Bay on Thursday.

The Bruins are reportedly in the market for a third-line winger who can chip in offensively. Boston has upwards of $10 million in cap space. The trade deadline is April 3.

Regression toward the mean, for both the scorers and the goaltender (in opposite ways).
- bradleyc4

I think Bryz will get back to around a .915 SV%. He has been less sharp than his average level of "sharpness". I also think some of those offensive numbers will be coming down, except for Giroux's.

yeah, the 2nd half of that equation is a little ominous for bryZ. trying to remember he's a .920 guy in PHO.
- isaiah520

.914 for his career which is right around league average.

Who would they be giving up and who would we be giving up do you think?

Without a doubt. Flyers-Devils was a lot bigger than Pens-Flyers for awhile as well. That's why I refuse to call the Flyers-Pens rivalry the best in sports. That title still belongs to Yankees-Red Sox. Even if one or both of the teams suck, it's still heated.

I think the penguin fans have always hated the flyers because we beat them so much

A goalie should be judged on his play over the course of an entire Season. And how he makes key saves at key parts of the game. Bryzgalov is doing just fine if you ask me.

Fantasy: Chara

Realistically: Sidenberg

I'm probably going to guess that the Flyers won't make a big deal with the Bruins considering the fact that they'll see them in the playoffs in the future.

the Bruins GM has scouted the last 2 flyer games, wonder what kind of a trade that would be?
- vejim

Lilja and Walker for Horton

EDIT: Screw it Homer, go ahead and toss in a 2nd. G.I.D.

Hahaha good point but, not to sound like a homer, but they added a ton of new fans after 2005 that changed the landscape of the rivalry.

Might be a game time decision. Also, based on the guys taking extra work this morning, Bryz is starting

He could be a .915 guy here on average. He was at .909 last year but was average or below average for most of the season.

All Goalies do. And compared to the rough patches he hit last year, right now isn't one of them.

My issue with JJ is that every time a Flyers hits the ice he'll say "no call" in a sort of bewildered voice. I'd just rather have him call the game, even with the home team bias, but without critiquing the refs.

As for Coatsey, he's the uncle that's always getting drunk at weddings. Some of the family fines him hilarious and the rest want him shunned.

- NickTheKid87

I just don't think JJ's as bad about the penalty complaints as he's made out to be 'round these parts. I know he does it, I just don't think he's exceptionally bad about doing it. Just my $.02

As for Coats, yes.

You put anyone on the Flyers and their save percentage automatically drops by 5%. Same way it goes up in Phoenix, NYR, etc.

I doubt any goalie is a .920 guy in Philly the way they play D sometimes

Compared to other home team broadcasters, he's not bad but I just don't like that kind of commentary in general.

Don't get me wrong, I like JJ, just not some aspects of his style.

Good point. The Flyers weren't very good defensively last night.
