Thats a fair enough point, but we don't know how he will react to playing with a stronger defense in front of him. Ok, granted the Panthers defense is playing pretty terrible, they are still a stronger unit than San Antonio fields. It could be that he puts up comprable numbers. Over his last 12, Markstrom has played very well, so if the defense gets a little jolt and plays a bit better, and he continues to roll a bit, we might actually get more than a 2 game win streak going. All in all, though, I would rather they move Clemmenson and let Theodore and Markstrom platoon and let them ride hot hands. I feel like we are throwing the game out when Clemmenson steps in... - phxcyots22
It is true that San Antonio is about as bad as the Panthers are. And with Petrovic and Caruso hurt and Strachan and Gudbranson called up, their defense is (aside from Robak) nothing to write home abou.
Right there, spot on, its been driving me nuts all season, big juicy rebounds. A technically proficient butterfly goalie will put those rebounds into safe places or swallow them up. Neither of our present goalies do that leading to a lot of the puck battles or goals we see in front of our net.
I am not overly worried about this call-up at this point. I believe they will give the Alien a shot at a game. If he plays well, he'll get another, and if well, another etc.. If it does not go well they will pull him out of there, maybe give him one more shot to see how that one goes and send him back to the AHL if he is not simply studly. I get every impression they are going to be careful here. They can't move Theo anyway, he has said he wants to finish here and has a NTC, so he's here to stay, and if they move Clemmer and Alien can't hack it they can always bring Foster or Dov up as a back-up for Theo and call it a season and head for the draft.
And phxcyots22, have not really seen you around here so let me be the one to tell you Gudbranson2012 does not have to be responded to, he is not really a Panthers fans and just likes chucking incindiary comments out for reaction. - clarkey
Spot on agree with everything you said. That's why I think this is a good move I see no problem I have been begging for them to bring him up he is really IMO.

I agree with the decision. I have a feeling if Dale Tallon sees another week of poor hockey, the gloves are off..and perhaps a few surprised players are packing. Just a gut feeling.

Let's make a list of "untouchables". Here's mine:
Fleischman- A good guy to build around
Versteeg- I think he is still valuable. Unless the return is good, we should keep him
Huberdeau- For obvious reasons
Shore- Obvious reasons
Mueller- Finally found a long-term home
Matthias- Finally playing NHL hockey and showing tons of skill
Skille- Absolute workhorse
Campbell- Obvious
Gudbranson- Obvious
Markstrom- Obvious
I'm leaving Kulikov, Smithson, and Kopecky off because, in my opinion, they're meh. Kulikov has tons of skill, but the return on him could be decent. Smithson and Kopecky are two guys you want on your team. Great 3rd/4th line players who can kill penalties. This season, Kopecky has done a lot of things that you won't see on the scoresheet but are invaluable.
Weiss... I think his time here is up. Just my opinion.

I like Weiss, but he's not the same. Wasn't ready for the season. Maybe he was ticked with the choice of Jovo, who knows. I could see a package of him, Matthias ( I wouldn't like that ), and Skille. Out of those three, the one that would trouble me most to lose is Matthias. Since the playoffs last year I feel he made some huge strides. Skille is a hard worker, but it's hard to describe really just how a HARD WORKER can still disappear for games. Strange, but just my observation.
I also agree with your assessment of Mueller, always liked him. Let's hope he stays healthy.

I agree with all your picks. not sure why but I still think Weiss will turn it around. If there is a player on this team that can do it, it is him IMO. Plus as long as it works for him I still he still can have a role on this team just put him on the 2nd line.
Also I am not sure but do you know if mueller will still count as a RFA?

Yes, he is an RFA.
My list of you can have em's (for the right price, some cheap, some more expensive):
Kovalev. (what is the last round of the draft, I will take that pick in exchange for him)
Kuba. (same but because he is a D-man throw in the next year's also)
Clemmenson (mid round draft pick)
Kopecky (like his intangibles but feel we can replace them, although he is a nice piece for us right now)
Jovo (anything we can get)
Weaver (maybe he is turning things around, maybe not. For the right price I'd move him)
Goc (for the right price because his game is not as solid as it was last season but still brings a bit to the table)
Parros (whatever we can get for him)
For a big price- yeah, I would move Weiss and Theo.
