Yup I imagine it was the same thing as seeing Lindros , pre concussions, flying towards you with the puck.

Knock it off. You're getting a bit to lovey dovey on Malkin.

#Pens Vokoun really down on himself in locker room after game. Can tell he's taking it hard and feels bad. Feels like he let team down

HE should be. Bad goals. We could have beaten the Flyers tonight by 2 goals at least.

I don't know. What I do know is that when I see quotes like Orpik's tonight, i get the feeling they've been told numerous times. But he needs to do something to get them to actually listen. Because game in game out they're shooting themselves in the foot.

His only option is to take away ice time and he seems unwilling to do it. Sometimes a coach can go overboard with punishment, but some of these guys really need to learn about being selfish.

Patrick Roy in his prime would have had issues playing for the Pens tonight, IMO

Oh no doubt...I don't want to get into the whole "Malkin is no Lindros" thing on the Pens board after THAT game. I was just morbidly lurking and I think I'll get back to that.

See you on March 7 Pens peeps.

Vokoun finding out why MAF has become a little bit of head case from time to time. Still, he should have been pulled after the 4th goal. He clearly didn't have it tonight.

Agreed, if nothing else to send a message to the rest of the team.

Sounds crazy, but I would come back with Vokoun against Florida on Friday

He's been watching Fleury handle the puck.

I really don't understand why they didn't go with Fleury tonight and Vokoun in Florida.

Well we got a head start but the Rangers and Flyers are playing better now. NJ is still playing well and I haven't written off the Islanders, I can see them fighting for a spot. We knew this division would be a dogfight, it's going to be an exciting year.

1-8 I'm done being concerned with seeds. Just get the team there.

True enough. I'd almost prefer more road games at this point. I just can't believe that a team as good at home as they have been won't find their groove at some point.

you wouldn't have been pretty damn happy if the Pens had won?

these aren't just regular season games. not between THESE two teams.

They are after you've experienced your team winning a cup. Wake up tomorrow and its 2 points in a 48 game season.

Tonight was a perfect night to gain some distance on the Flyers, a nine point lead would have been significant.

I don't think the Rags are playing any better. That game they played against Montreal was TERRIBLE. Add Nash's injury and they might be in trouble now. They can't score.

I have written off the Islanders. It might have talent, but that team is playing bad hockey.

Philly is crawling back from the dead.

We gave them two points. No excuse. Now, its Florida, TB, Florida again and then the Canes probably without Skinner. This is a very manageable schedule. Time to go on another run.

maybe to you ... but to most Pens fans and most Flyers fans the games between these 2 clubs are more joyful to win, and more painful to lose.

I'm not concerned about being in the top 8. Just real worried how they play once they get there.

That concern is going to be there until they win a playoff series regardless how they play all regular season. I agree with you.

"...does it ever occur to anyone that maybe Evgeni Malkin wouldn’t be so irritated by Sean Couturier if they weren’t on the ice together all the time during a home game in which the home coach has the line change?...A lot went wrong in that game, and that includes Dan Bylsma’s blatant refusal to match lines and to let Peter Laviolette essentially do as he pleases." --dejan kovacevic

They're sure as hell not going to win playing like they are now. They need to figure out how ro extend the first 10 minutes another 50.
