Why no note about Neal throwing flying elbows as a subplot? Or his reluctance to fight Wayne Simmonds afterwards? Or Evgeni Malkin elbowing Flyers' defensemen behind the net? Goes both ways buddy. - jmatchett
This makes sense anywhere but a Pens blog. Not sure what you expected to read in here or why you are shocked. |

Aww my poor team, poor me, I need a scapegoat to justify my reality. My team cant settle it on the ice, it must my settled on the interweb. |

I'm going to go to a rival team's fan blog, and then get outraged by what I read lol.
It reminds me of the people who listen to opposing political talk radio, just to get pissed off. |

Do you expect anything different from the Pens blogger? He thinks the Flyers are dirty when he has cheap shot artist cindy on his team. Also Neal elbows players all the time and pens fans don't have a problem with that. Looking forward to Giroux besting cindy crybaby again. - Allstarzz
Oh goodie ... look what the cat brought in. I love it when fans of meaningless teams come in and flex their muscles. This is like a Pirate fan barging into a Texas Ranger thread. |

Well, the Flyers have dirty players, and I'll give it to you. Every team does. But nothing the Flyers did last year is up there with Neal's shot at Couturier or Asham (no longer on the team, I know) crosschecking Schenn in the throat. If we're expecting a non-homerized version of the subplots, I think Neal would be one of the main ones. I like reading Toperzer daily, and just didn't think he's be such a homer as to only point the finger one way.
Edit: I'd like to add that I actually enjoy watching the Penguins, and as a whole, they're a fun team, and a very talented one. So I'm not in here to go "Cindy's dirty tee hee, Malkin is a stupid poo!" or anything, just trying to calmly state that yes, while there are subplots, they're not all Flyer-driven. |

Ovie still has more goals and points than Crosby in his career. And he did that with no Malkin on his team. Enough said. - Allstarzz
With no Malkin but with Backstrom and mostly STEROIDS ...anyway, a hockey carreer don't end in 4-5 years. Good luck with your pathetic team trying to make the playoffs, LOSER |

Yes, because the Pirates and Rangers play each other so often and have had such a heated rivalry the past few seasons. Totally the same. |

Good job John...you got the Flyer fans riled up...but I'm sure you had NO INTENTION of doing that...right?
C'mon guys...it's Pens vs Flyers game day...it would be so boring if we just said the stats and then didn't have some fun talking about the history with hope for more history making moments in tonight's contest.
I'm gonna say 10-3 Pens. Crosby and Malkin and Giroux get hat tricks...Crosby and Malkin get Gordie Howe hat tricks too.
Crosby fights Giroux.
Malkin fights Couturier.
Edzo fights Pierre McGuire. (okay, not even sure they are doing the game).
Flyers finish the game with 75 pims...Hartnell is ejected for getting into a confrontation with Cy Clark.

I don't know about my fellow Penguin fans, but I love this guy. I mean how can we honestly get mad at a guy who uses the not at all played out insult of Cindy. I mean he obviously isn't attempting to demean women by implying that someone name Cindy is worth less than an individual with a males name.
As for the Giroux vs Crosby comment here is a simple graphic that explains why Giroux wins:
As you can clearly see, league accomplishments mean nothing. Only video game covers matter. |

5-2 Penguins tonight. Malkin/Neal with a big night and Giroux sulking (calling his mum) about how his wrists haven't been the same and he can't score anymore. |

I understand you're comparing two teams in another professional North American sports (sorta) league who never ever play each other to teams in another North American league who play each other several times per season. Even with the Leafs, there's still some history there, more so than the Rangers and Pirates. I'd say Cardinals might be more fitting. |

That may be the first time I've actually seen someone use hackles in a sentence. Honestly, I'm hoping for a (mostly) clean, hard fought game with a lot of skill on display tonight. I want to see if Couturier can once again contain Malkin. Although I would like to see Neal fight Simmonds, just to try to put the thing to bed. |

Well said. And no Pens fan seems to have a reasonable explanation for why the subplots are completely one-sided in the blog or why it's seemingly acceptable for JT to throw stones in his glass house. |

I posted this on the old thread, and wanted to see what people think.....
I've come to the conclusion that if a trade does happen, it's going to be for somebody that no one expected. A guy in his 20s who is a 20 goal scorer with the ability to be a 30+ goal scorer on the wing of a Sid or Geno. Going completely off the board, i could see a guy like Partic Hornqvist from Nashville or David Jones from Colorado being targets. |

And therefore nothing negative about past Pens exploits can be uttered even when relevant to upcoming events? |
