I will predict it until he does.

Available is relative term. Availability is influenced by what an offer might be.

As a starting point, I hope Holmgren is having regular discussions with Phoenix. They have a strong roster of Dmen. Maybe Holmgren can find a formula of players and $000 that would see him consider OEL as his first target.

Ah, the Eklund lockout attack. Just keep predicting it, and then when it happens, you're right!

Also, Bill, being that we're now in the regular swing on things as opposed to opening day, do you think the Flyers (Simmonds maybe) might challenge Neal for the Coots/Giroux shots last year?

- jmatchett

Better happen. Although didn't happen last time they played. Maybe they figure it wont be worth The Pp Pitt would sure to be given.

That's fine. I love coots but we have 5 centers. #3 center on our team not as valualabe as a #1 dman or #1 line winger
- SMS4016

So rather then looking at what the player might be in the future as a player. You're saying he is less valuable because you placing an arbitrary number to what Center he is. When Mike Richards started out, he was playing on the 4th line. They should've traded him then because he was a 4th line Center.

What else could they do at the time but sign bryz? Vokoun no thanks, bernier would have cost an arm and a leg. I understand you don't like the contract. But that is the world of UFA. Bryz has been very good. He's been the best player this year, he was the best flyer in the devils series. The cap hit is fine for what were getting. He might be a detriment later but I'm sure they will make plans to have young cheap goalie options. Stolarz doing ok I hear

Thank God you're not the GM.

I expect more drama today. That's my prediction. Propose moves, cringe when they're criticized, & cry foul. It's been done before.

Sort of. Plenty of judgments & lawyering here every day. More drama than a Law & Order marathon, too.

Who exactly is everyone? And that's what I want the Flyers to base their moves on. On what "everyone" thinks. What would you give up for OEL?
You're not in bad shape Cap wise if the Golaie continues to play well throughout his contract. If he does, it's the opposite. You're in great cap shape for it.

Okay please don't have a heart attack. I would offer one of Schenn or Couturier and one of either Read or Voracek or Simmonds. One player from each list. Choice of who to Phoenix.

For OEL, maybe. But that's a lot. But in order to get OEL who I don't think is readily available, you're going to have to overpay.

I would have been fine even with the long contract if they kept Ritchie and carts. But when you trade your core and go young like they did Getting (schenn coots checky read simmonds) you stay young. You don't sign 31 year old goalies that are going to be on the decline when that core hits there prime. They had bob. They should have went with him and got experienced back up. Don't know if you've Seen bob in Columbus? He's playing pretty good on a crap team.

Couts only straight up....nothing more nothing less...Laughton will be a third line center and schenn is better gifted offensively than Couts is.

Saw some of that yesterday.

Schiff was a great character, and that was one of my favorite lines. Hill had quite a delivery.

I hope Bill's delay in answering Tman's question on Page 1 is because he's getting a phone call from Lavi on the subject.

More seriously I hope McGinn is healthy.

Bobrovsky's SV% is .897 and his GAA is 2.88.There's no reason why Bryzgalov can't continue to play at a high level well into his 30's

I haven't this year. Their mindset last summer was make a legitimate cup run. Not develop a young core for the future. Bryz was more of a sure thing, and still is the better goalie. Prongers situation has thrown a really monkey wrench that they are still dealing with. But last year they envisioned a real cup run

If other teams are predicting coots could be a #1 center then we should be able to get a lot for him??? I know I'm quite fine with g as my #1 center for the next 10 years with b schenn my 2. Or trade schenn and go with coots #2. I'm fine with that too but neither is taking g spot on top line. If we didn't have g I'd agree and say no way we trade coots or schenn but fact is were stacked.

Everyone is aware of that. Doesn't mean they're willing to trade OEL.

Honestly, there is no way I give up Schenn or Couts PLUS one of Read, Voracek, or Simmonds. No way.

But neither G nor Schenn has the potential to be a 2 way Selke caliber Center that can score. Like I said the other day. If there is a legitimate #1 defenseman available, I'd consider moving Couturier.
