pretty funny at the draft when the Pitts crowd all booed Homer, I wonder what the flyer fans will do when Shero comes up, politely clap?

Giroux missed 30 games last season due to multiple concussions? I must have missed that.

Neal's only concussion issues are suspensions from when he tries to cause them with dirty hits.

- Feanor

And to consider Neal a dirty player because he had a couple dirty hits in a heated series is ridiculous. If thats the case, then Giroux is a dirty player, for his antics in Game 4 of the Devils series last year.

One funny story I have on this is my other friend who loathes everything Pittsburgh (can't stand it) including their fans. He's always saying how much he hates Pens' fans and our mutual friend is the Pens' fan I mentioned earlier. So everytime he starts ranting and raving about how much he hates their fans I say, "Well what about Dave?"and he comes back with "that's different" and then I have to explain to him that it's not.

The point is, there are other moving parts in every trade. It's not as simple as "this seems fair, let's do it". Young, high potential defenseman are extremely coveted right now and the market dictates that you'll have to over pay for one. Supply and demand. Simple.
- NickTheKid87

So it's ok to overpay for bryz and pronger but not a young dman ?

I do it because we're allowed to but not allowed to use Internet at work while not on lunch except for work purposes. They watch over us too. However, I know how to use punctuation, spelling, & capitalization properly.

But hey, as long as the owners' old dog can crap and pee on the rug all winter and get free kennel services from people paid to do office work, I guess I can't complain.

Giroux is actually slightly dirty. in the 2011 playoffs he took a chop at a Bruins' ankle while he was skating to the bench.

Exactly. It just adds a bit of anger to the rivalry. If it had been a player from, say Phx, we wouldnt even think about it anymore. Just so happens that a good player on our biggest rival was the guy who threw the combo of dirty hits, and then cowered when it was time to man up.

I am an anomaly though. I have a Crosby poster in my room + 2 jerseys and a couple of shirts. Plus my user name.

And do also look forward to 4 or 5 years down the line when all this players get big contracts and we loose someone like we lost gags and get a walker back so we can save a few mill Cause were in cap hell or do you prefer trading one of them down the road like Pitt did with staal and getting squat back?
- SMS4016

Yes because a legit shutdown 3rd line center with some offensive ability, a 21 year old solid defensive prospect and the 8th overall pick in the draft is squat.

As I recall, pens got another good 3rd line center for Staal so not exactly squat. And the guy wanted to play with his brother. He earned that right as an upcoming UFA. It's obvious we need a #1 Dman and I agree with some of your points but the trade market isn't the only way we can get one. How about drafting one and developing one for a change?

That's not even comparable. Bryz was signed as a free agent and they didn't overpay for Pronger.
